The Spartans horrible season got a reprieve on January 13 when they actually knocked off the Fresno State Bulldogs, 64-61. It was a rare instance in which SJSU actually had 17 assists to just six turnovers, (more on that later). They caught Fresno at the perfect time. The Dogs were just back from a tough loss at Hawaii and they had a game with conference power Nevada on deck, making it easy to look past the Spartans. Fresno was horrible from the floor and attempted 33 treys. Back to the subject of assists and turnovers. SJSU has lost all 10 games on the road, losing by 17 ppg and allowing 78 ppg. The Spartans have committed more turnovers than assists in all 10 games. In fact, San Jose has totaled eight assists or fewer in five of those games. The Spartans head into Fresno with a road total of 91 assists and 163 turnovers!
