BEGINNING MONDAY, MAY 11

Pittsburgh at Philadelphia (4) 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th
The Bucs are still below .500 but they?re pitching extremely well at the moment (2.79 team ERA, 2nd best in the NL) and they draw a weak opponent here at Citizen?s Bank. The Phillies are averaging a mere 2.8 runs per game at the plate and will be fortunate to salvage a victory in this series. PREFERRED: Pirates in all games.

Atlanta at Cincinnati (3) 11th, 12th, 13th
The Reds have been doing their best work in night games vs. righthanders so far, posting a 9-3 mark in that situation (+$665, averaging 5.4 runs per game). The Braves have lost 7 of their last 11 games played (-$260) and none of the starters they are likely to face here at Great American Ballpark give us much cause for concern. PREFERRED: Reds in all games.

N.Y. Mets at Chicago Cubs (4) 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th
The Mets are fading after a fast start (4-7, -$260 in their last 11) and they?ve been far less effective on the road thus far. They are a dismal 1-7 in night games outside of CitiField (-$585) and Chicago is pitching well (3.10 ERA among starters in the last 10 days). PREFERRED: Cubs in night games.

Washington at Arizona (3) 11th, 12th, 13th
The Nationals dominated the Diamondbacks in head to head competition last season (6-1, +$480) but their numbers vs. righthanders are still pretty dismal (only 8-12, -$745) and they?ll face a steady diet of righties here at Chase Field. Arizona looks vulnerable though (only 27, -$530 in the last 10 days), so stay away. PREFERRED: None.

Miami at L.A. Dodgers (3) 11th, 12th, 13th
The Dodgers are scrambling to cobble together a viable rotation, with Brandon McCarthy the latest hurler joining the DL. The Marlins are a very hot team (8-2, +$545 last 10 days) and they are doing a great job vs. lefthanders (4-1, +$285, averaging 5.4 runs per game). PREFERRED: Marlins vs. lefthanders.

Toronto at Baltimore (3) 11th, 12th, 13th
The Blue Jays are vying for worst pitching in baseball at the moment (5.13 team ERA) but they?ve had no difficulty manhandling the O?s in head to head play (5-1, +$420 in those contests). Baltimore has had a hectic couple of weeks filled with postponements and relocated games, so we?re reluctant to get involved until things settle down for them. PREFERRED: Blue Jays at +125 or more.

N.Y. Yankees at Tampa Bay (4) 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th
The Yankees have now won 14 of their last 17 and hold a nice lead in the competitive AL East. They?ve hammered Tamp Bay in their first six meetings (5-1, +$360) and their strong rotation (3.20 ERA) should continue to dominate a team that averages just 3.6 runs per game at the plate. PREFERRED: Yankees in all games.

Kansas City at Texas (4) 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th
The Royals square off against this team for the first time in 2015 after posting a 5-1 record against them last season (+$345). They own the best pitching in the AL (3.08 ERA) and they are profitable away from Kaufman Stadium (+$290). Texas is terrible at Arlington (only 3-9, -$610) and they have only one pitcher who could be a real problem. PREFERRED: Royals unless opposed by N. Martinez.

Boston at Oakland (3) 11th, 12th, 13th
The Red Sox can?t pitch at all (5.04 ERA) but the Athletics are struggling mightily right now (3-7, -$585 last 10 days) and they?ve been a disaster here at the Coliseum (-$815 already). If the price on the visitor looks reasonable we?ll look for Boston to break through for some victories. PREFERRED: Red Sox at +125 or better
.
Chicago W. Sox at Milwaukee (3) 11th, 12th, 13th
The worst of the NL (Brewers 7-18, -$1120) meet up with one of the AL?s weak sisters in an ugly early season inter-league matchup. None of Chicago?s starters has flashed very good form up to now (4.56 team ERA) but we can?t see backing Milwaukee under any circumstances. Stay clear of this one. PREFERRED: None.

BEGINNING TUESDAY, MAY 12

Minnesota at Detroit (3) 12th, 13th, 14th
The Twins have already dropped 5 out of 6 to the Tigers in head to head play (-$365) but the Twins are starting to gel (7-3, +$565 in their last 10) so caution is advised. Detroit has been particularly deadly in day games so far (12-3, +$900) so take a shot in Thursday?s afternoon contest. PREFERRED: Tigers in day games.

St. Louis at Cleveland (3) 12th, 13th, 14th
The Cardinals have gotten spectacular work from its pitching staff (2.21 team ERA), through the loss of Adam Wainwright is a nasty blow. The Indians have already dropped a bundle here at Progressive Field (-$615) and their 4.64 team ERA indicates a huge edge for the visitor here. PREFERRED: Cardinals in all games.

San Francisco at Houston (2) 12th, 13th
The Astros have opened up a seven game lead in the AL West and they have a solid righthander in Collin McHugh (+$525 in his first five starts) who is expected to be on the mound at Minute Maid Park to face a Giants team that is only 6-11 (-$710) vs. righthanders, averaging just 2.9 runs per game. PREFERRED: McHugh.

Colorado at L.A. Angels (2) 12th, 13th
The Angels have lost money at Anaheim (-$400 so far) but they?ll be heavy favorites in both these games. The Rockies are close to .500 outside of Coors Field, and we?ll turn a nice profit if they can manage a split. PREFERRED: Rockies in both games.

San Diego at Seattle (2) 12th, 13th
We don?t trust the Marines at Safeco (-$545 already this season) and the Padres are 5-2 vs. lefties so far (+$325, averaging 6.4 runs per game at the plate). PREFERRED: Padres vs. lefthanders.
