fuck it, i wasn't even going to post a play because i don't have a strong opinion on this game, but it's the damn nc game. gotta post something.
clemson (ML) 1 unit to win 2.1. no doubt 'bama is the better team. which makes this so difficult to play. but as we all know... the best team doesn't always win. so often it comes down to matchups. and from what we've seen from alabama over the last few years is that their one weakness is playing against a dual threat qb. and watson is probably the best in the country right now. i have to believe clemson will have a similar game plan to what ohio st did to them last year, and make alabama defend the entire field, which eventually wore them down.
just a few notes...
in stark contrast from last year, alabama's offense has been very poor on 3rd down. they are 96th in the country. and clemson's defense is 2nd in the country, only allowing opponents to convert 25.7% of the time.
i just don't trust coker to have another great game like he did against michigan st. i never felt i was watching a very good qb against michigan st. i felt like i was watching a middle-of-the-road qb have the game of his life.
the line dropping off of 7 a few days ago says a lot.
to me, this feels like a bama blowout or a clemson win. as i said elsewhere, if i had any discipline and this wasn't the nc game, i wouldn't be betting it.
