*Atlanta (-170) is still laying chalk like Braves teams of the past. This Braves team isn't that good.

*If Schmidt ain't pitching, the Giants will have a tough time winning.

*Cleveland is Kansas City's bitch!

*Colorado's slide has begun.

*Will the Padres ever lose again (14-1 last 15)? Of course they will, and when they do, there is a long losing streak waiting for them. This team is mediocre at best, and everything evens out in the end. For now though, ride them while they're hot.

Please feel free to add any thoughts you have to this thread. Best of luck today fellas!

1. Red Sox have a great record against the O's.
2. Twins will have a tough time recovering from losing a game after scoring 7 runs in the first inning.
3. Buchholz for the Stros is a great young pitcher.

The Braves are absolutely mediocre. Who are they right now to lay -170 to anyone.

The White Sox might have had a wake up call after losing 3 straight.

Boston usually dominates Baltimore in Baltimore. Boston is looking for their 12th straight victory against the O's! Lopez's record is 1-5 w/ a era over 7.

Yanks might be in a serious offensive funk until Sheffield comes. Bottom of the order is really suspect right now.

Good stuff guys

Some other trends to look at:

Phillies have won 13 of their last 14 games.

Cubs have lost 13 of their last 14 games.

Overs are 24-9-2 for Florida this year.

White Soxs are 18-5 against right handed starters.

Some other trends:

PIT's is 10-14 vs. RHP but 1-13 vs. LHP

KC is 10-16 v. RHP but 0-9 vs. LHP

Betting against PIT and KC on the road vs. LHP and betting on them at home against RHP (in certain spots) would maybe be a decent play.

NY Mets have not beaten a quality opponent this year

Phillies' Hammels is the real deal

LAA seem to have a good year followed by an off year.

Look for Balt to start scoring again as players return from the DL

Twins are worst hitting team in day games this year.

White Sox drop off in day games as well.

BTW,
Todays CWS/MIN matchup:

The umpire is 3-4 for the home team; 4-3 over/under; 0-1 for F. Garcia; 2-8 for CWS last 10; 7-3 for MIN last 10

Baker in his 1 prior start against the Sox was at home and he beat Garland 2-1.

Baker's numbers are just as good as Garcia's recently and both offenses are similar against righties both recently (last 10) and home/away.

With all that I have to take a shot with the dog who seems to be getting a lot of value in my eyes.

Min +125 at home

Hitman, I totally agree with what you said about Anaheim. Look for the Angels to put together a long winning streak very soon. They have a favorable schedule this month.

KC is 14-6, L20 playing the rl

NYY lost their first day game of the year yesterday. Haven't looked it up, mentioned on the YES network.

The home team on Sunday night ESPN, has lost there next game every time but last week.

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
some more trends I found at ******:

Over is 14-5-2 in BAL last 21 night games.

Over is 19-7-2 in FLA last 28 night games.

Over is 20-8-2 in CLE last 30 night games, but (as many of these trends go)
Under is 8-3-1 in KC last 12 night games

Under is 13-3-1 in Hennessey's last 17 on Grass

Under is 13-3-1 in COL last 17 overall, but Over is 6-2-0 in LA last 8 overall.

I like that SF/Houston under with Hennessey's record of unders and bouncing back strong from bad outings, and Buchholz got bad outing and loss to bounce back from too.

Not having a good posting year, but wanted to chime in:

The reds suck, their annual freefall begins. The pitching staff blows, and the whole lineup is a strikeout waiting to happen.

I don't think Detroit is nearly as good as the CWS, but I think they are better than Cleveland, and they have the lineup to compete with the NYY, their young rotation gets better and the BP is solid, if Todd Jones can hold up, dare we say they are hanging around come September?

If the Phillies rotation can keep chugging along, I feel like they can take the mets down to the wire. I can' t see the Braves making the playoffs with that rotation and Chris Reitsma trying to close games.

Toronto hanging in there without any contribution from AJ Burnett, but with Chachin being injured and their middle relief not being so good, probably a 3rd place finish.

I think Pittsburgh and KC worst teams in the league. Nats not far behind, the lineup looks good on paper, but no clutch hitting and no pitching.

I agree with W&W on the Padres. Mediocre team, they always play well in May. They win 80 games tops in my opinion. Giants suck too, what the hell has happened to Matt Morris? Either he is injured or Darryl Kile took his mojo with him to the grave.

Is this the last year of Dusty in Chicago? God, what an abortion...

Angels can't hit, Anderson will break down again, and who will protect Vlad? Salmon has been solid, but they need more power, the Catcher pos is a joke, when do they release Jeff Weaver?

These guys need to be sent down or outright released:

Rodrigo Lopez
Carlos Silva
Victoria Santos (guys sucks balls)
Ramon Ortiz (how this guy was ever compared to Pedro Martinez is an absolute f'n mystery to me)
Jason Kendall ----will he hit a ball to the warning track this year? Yes +250 No -300
Ian Snell: Human meatball
Seth McClung
Richie Sexson (theft is illegal in all 50 states)
Jeromy Burnitz
Juan Encarnacion (he is a turd burglar)
Jim Brower keeps gettign reincarnated
Dewon Brazelton
Tyler Walker
Joe Mays (oops forgot, he already got sent down)
Bruce Chen
Kyle Lohse
Brian Moehler
Glendon Rusch
Chad Orvella
Vinnie Chulk (dude has a really ugly mouth)
Russ Ortiz
Eric Milton
Casey Fossum
Russel Branyan
Travis Lee
Matt Stairs
Ray Durham
Neifi Perez

fattymanboobs,

Terrific post! In my opinion, one of the best so far this year in the baseball forum. Thanks for taking the time and effort. I look forward to hearing from you again in the near future!
