In college football, are you confident enough in your handicapping ability to play a three team parlay for $100 and, assume you have a winner, let the winnings ride on a three teamer the following week?

Be honest.

I no longer even try to take wagering seriously..I learned a few years ago that I don't possess the skill to be profitable at using sports wagering as an investment.

I set aside funds..If I happen to have a good season with teasers like two years ago then so be it.

Otherwise there is X amount for entertainment..when that is gone then the entertainment dollar is done for season..No stupid as hell reloads..no pissing away a couple grand to call my self a handicapper.

I keep a true and up todate record because it takes all the lying and bullshit out of the mix.

no do overs..no start agains..no that doesn't count..they all count including buy backs..In the end..whatever the + or - says.

look forward to another entertainment filled season of football..

Well said. Entertainment is the key. Not gonna get rich at it for sure. Just enjoy and hopefully get on a roll.

i have solid ?-units. problem with %-units is that if you have 10-game losing strike (all bets +100) and then 10-game winning strike (again all +100) you end up with less money than you had. With solid units you end up with the same amount you started with.

and it is good idea to keep smallest 1u amount high enough so you don't end up spreading your 1u plays but must think with each bet if it is really worth it.

to other sports than US-major leagues, European hockey and soccer i have used 1/5 unit plays.

You failed to understand my post. You are posting that your play is 22% when in reality it is not. If I remember, you start off with a $2500 bankroll, but as your bankroll goes up or down you don't resize. I've seen you in the whole a few thousand and still betting the same amounts. Which means that you aren't really betting 22% of your bankroll. The only reason I say that is this guy was asking for help and people like you fuck them up. I don't give a shit what you do but the squares that follow you will get hurt by BS like that.

You Failed to Understand:

1)I ALWAYS BET A % of the SAME SET BR REGARDLESS OF OVERALL +/-

2)The +/- % SHOWS EXACTLY WHERE MY CURRENT BR IS AS A % of SBR
2a)SBR=Starting Bankroll : TBR=Total BankRoll +/-: PBR=Profit on BR : LBR=Loss on BR :
P%=Profit% : L%=Loss%

3)I.E. :
P%+80 = (2500x1.8) = TBR @ 4500
(P%.80 x SBR2500) = PBR +2000

4)I.E. :
L% -80 = (2500x .8 ) TBR @ -2000 :

Regardless of my TBR compared to my SBR a Ctailer Knows Exactly Where I sit Profit or Loss Wise & That Is What Counts!....
Simple Math :: :0074

I understand YOUR method. It's not about YOU.

It's about an idiot square betting 22% of his bankroll because you are suggesting that, when in reality you aren't.

You did get me with whole. I was going way too fast responding to your retarded post. Enjoy it. You won't get many of those.

Same here, but boy do I luv teases in Football!

You talk to top professionals in town here like Steve Fezzik, they are big on teasers nowadays.

You handicap SU sides/totals by looking for mistakes/soft lines, but handicap teasers by looking for lines that are right where they should be. Because lines have gotten sharper and sharper in recent years, this means making money on teasers is getting easier and easier.

The books know this, have been hurt by it, that is why they have lowered limits on teasers, changed the payouts, and very hard to find places that take 2 team teasers anymore.

Tho a killer 2 teamer for Week One is Pittsburgh Steelers +9 and San Diego Chargers -3

I have slowly come to realize over time that I can be a successful handicapper if I am disciplined, and this discipline takes the form of money management and selective wagers. I think cappers need to be extremely selective in their picks, and just pick games in which they have extreme confidence in the results. Not exactly earth-shattering advice, I know. However, I think it is way too easy to bleed away profits by putting money on games because I want a little action. I have resolved to ONLY bet on games I am extremely confident on, and never bet a game just because it is on TV and I want to add some excitement to my viewing.

I really think I can do this, but I have to combine this selectiveness with proper money management. To me this is a fascinating topic, one that I must admit I am not clear yet what is the best way to approach. This is where I I would love to get some advice from other cappers. How do you manage your bankroll? What percentage of your bankroll is your "unit?" I am vacillating back and forth between 5% and 10% as my unit. I think that 10% may be high, but with a strong selective approach I think it may well be effective. That is die to the fact that every wager will only be the one unit, because I will only wager on results that I have the utmost confidence in.

I am quite keen to hear how other approach money management. All thoughts and comments are appreciated.

Jedi--just one simple point to make that is not a theory or speculation--but a fact.

If you can pick winners at a 53% rate or above at lines of 110 or better--the only way you can still come out a loser at end of year--
-- is vary amounts of wagers throughout the year.

If you keep wagers constant you just got to pick more winners than losers basically.

Okay, after a lot of research and thought, I will be sticking with the 5% per wager. However, this number will be recalculated daily. I will bet no more than 3 plays a day, meaning a disastrous day will only take 15% of my roll. Thank you to everyone who offered me input on this topic. May the Force be with you this football season!
