Yes.
Dallas wins they are in no matter what else happens.
I understand about teams out of it not quite playin the same. No doubt. But that happens every year, either with teams just playin for nothing at all or teams resting players etc.
I realize NE/NYG didnt do this week 17 last year, but history was on the line there & it was a special circumstance so to speak.
NE would not be the first team negatively affected by teams not playing all out/staters etc Week 17.
I give NE credit this year, way more than last year IMO. They did a great job w/ the situation they were put it.
GL!
The corporate greedy pigs that are the NFL have done it again. Choosing money and ratings over level competition. Although the Jets have virtually played themselves out of the playoffs, they do have a limited chance to get in. They would need the Patriots to lose at Buffalo, and win at home against Miami. Both games were scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Obviously the Jets would give their best effort because New England would be playing simultaneously.
The NFL already had a marquee game with playoff implications scheduled at 4 p.m., Denver at San Diego. Here is where they get greedy. Not satisfied with the scheduled 8 p.m. game, they switch Denver @San Diego to 8 p.m. then switch Miami at jets to 4 p.m. This way the corporate whores can manipulate the highest ratings in each time slot.
Only problem is if New England wins at Buffalo at 1 o'clock, what effort will the Jets provide at 4 o'clock? Effectively they will know at kickoff if they still have a chance of making the playoffs. By "flexing" the Miami @jets game to 4 o'clock NFL has definitely altered fair competition in favor of ratings and money.

one should never confuse a sporting event w/BIG BUSINESS..
if the fan based mattered the WORLD SERIES would never have a game starting at 10pm Eastern..
they don't care...
TV PACKAGE RULES ...
zillions of dollars spent and invested to reach the maxim audience and common sense be damned..
pay per view SUPER BOWL is just around the corner.
that is it..
no ifs no and's ...no buts
NBC has the right to flex the night games in the last few weeks. This isn't an NFL choice, and if the Jets didn't lose yesterday, I'm sure that Jets vs Dolphins would have been the game flexed to 8pm instead.
Lets be realistic ,by switching time slots, could backfire on said game.As a NE fan im not complaining.Realisticly by playing at same time would bring out the best in everybody.
You as a non NE fan probably doesnt understand that concept.Having said that I still think that the NYJ would like nothing else to spoil the Fins season regardless.l
Having no dog in this fight...I would probably choose the way they rescheduled it.
I get to watch NE at 1pm with playoff implications....same time---Dallas and Philly.
At 4pm....Miami in must win....Baltimore in must win.
8pm...I am drunker than an Irishman watching another divisional championship.
What is not to like?
No way NFL takes the spotlight off Dallas in the early game.
No way....that is their team.:0corn
