California, here comes NASCAR. This is the first of two annual stops at the Fontana facility, a 2-mile oval that doesn't always produce sizzling races.

Scott Riggs is coming off a career-best 4th place finish in the Daytona 500. He was inside the top 10 virtually all day.

Riggs recorded his first Busch Series win in California in 2002. He had a great test session in California in the offseason. He finished 7th in the Labor Day race in Fontana last year.

Mears qualified better than Rudd for this race, finished better in Dayton than Rudd, and had a much better happy hour practice speed on Friday (16th fastest versus Rudd's 41st). Solid bet at such a small number.

Bad day for the Hendrick engines as Riggs, Nemechek, and Gordon all suffered breaks in the motors.

Good day for me though, as I took advantage of others' bad breaks in the matchups.

Rudd made contact with Elliott in Lap 7 and was finished early. Looked like I was going to lose the Riggs-Nemechek matchup, but Joe's problem was more severe and he had to park it first.
