MONTREAL (CP) - A $2 lottery ticket has delivered a whopping return for a man who pocketed $25.4 million - the largest jackpot ever awarded by Loto-Quebec.

Robert Fournier, of nearby Laval, won a record $25,418,690 in the Super 7 draw last Friday, Loto-Quebec said in a news release on Tuesday. Fournier learned he would be joining the ranks of the super-rich while watching the weekly draw on television, Loto-Quebec said.

He plans to use the money to pursue his love for hunting and fishing, among other things.

Fournier remained in a state of shock several days after he learned of his new status as a multimillionaire, the provincial agency said.

The Laval convenience store where Fournier bought his ticket also made off with a pretty penny - the store will get more than $254,000, representing one per cent of Fournier's winnings.
