Edwards told the National press last week that if he and Kerry are elected, everyone in a wheel chair will be able to get up and walk. I don't think that even Bush would say something that idiotic....well, maybe.

SteveD for your information, the only people in here who disagree with me are the liberals.......haven't you noticed?.. I suppose you are one of them. You think that bothers me? I laughed when I read your pathetic attack on me.
Did you feel "high and mighty" when you tried to insult me? lol Man you can suck my balls Steve.

I know my superior knowledge of world government intimidates you, but you shouldn't be making claims about me unless you can factually back them up. CAN YOU? All I did was tell you to quit whining like a pussy and get out and vote and you had to throw a big stink and attack me!!! Calling me a whining baby??? Man you're PATHETIC!

You claim that I am full of shit but is there any way you can show me a couple examples????

I would love to debate you on this matter ......please bring it on a-hole. Start a new thread...WITH FACTS!

If you want to puss out then you can seriuosly kiss my ass. I contribute nothing but FACTS to this chatboard and you don't contribute jackshit...you're just some lonely uneducated pussy who can't contribute anything decent to the discussion so you have to pick out the resident republican and bag on him.
Typical Liberal!
.....it's easy for you to sit there and critisize me from the sidelines when you don't have the balls to stand up to me in a political debate. If you have shit to get off your chest lets hear it.

StevieD thinks the government should provide for his every need. He thinks that he is entitled to everyone else's money.

StevieD is the epitome of government reliance and envy in this country. So greedy that he thinks he should be able to plunder others' bank accounts.

Amazing.

Mandaughter anytime you want to debate the facts I am ready. You do nothing but cry like the little Monkey worshipping bitch that you are. Why don't with start with something Bush, or Fox, or Cheney, or any of the Murdoch Crime Family has not been able to do. Make the connection between Iraq and 9-11. Also please if that is too hard for you because even the 9-11 Commision couldn't make that claim then maybe you can tell me what WMD's did Saddam have that made him an immediate threat to us. So much of a threat that over 1000 have died while our borders remain unproductive. Here your chance to stand up like big girl.

Freeze, tell me how the tax cuts are working again? Last I saw not many jobs despite fighting two wars in a row. A stock market that's pretty low. A deficit that's growing. I may be wrong but they don't seem to be working. Please explain to me not how they are supposed to work but get out of the school room and into the real world and explain to me how they worked.

John Edwards absolutely said that if John Kerry was elected, people like Christopher Reeves would be able to walk out of their wheelchairs. I heard the sound clip at least 10 times on the radio. If you have the quote handy, I'd like to read what I heard. This occurred about 3 days after Reeves death. Don't believe for a minute that this is bs - it isn't. Unlike many in here, when I say something, it is an accurate representation of the truth.

Ferdville:

Uh, I hate to point this out to you but thats not what you said. In post 5 of this thread, you attribute the following statement to Edwards:

"... everyone in a wheelchair would be able to get up and walk."

That statement is vastly different than the following statement which you now attribute to Edwards:

"... people like Christopher Reeves would be able to walk out of their wheelchairs."

A perfect example of how the right wing members of this board mislead, spin and twist. Unbelievable and shamefull. Sure you didn't go to law school?

I don't care how a person tells me something as long as he consistant and I think he is believable--and don't care how eloquents a speaker is when I know hes trying to blowsmoke up mt ass.Do you judge one by promises or actions?Case in point--go to "What has Kerry did for this country" thread
http://www.madjacksports.com/forum/showthread.php?t=163263&page=1

The left has had since 10-18 to list kerry's accomplishments and in that time period have come up with 2-graduated from Yale and served time in Viet nam. ---but the leopar would like you to believe he's changed spots---just tell me how and AP below how he plans to keep these promises????????????
How do you believe 2 of biggest liberals-both attorneys--whose largest finacial contributing block are attorneys--say we are for tort reform.Liberal Logic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"More broadly, Kerry's administration could be expected to bring a new approach across the horizon: tougher on polluters, less heavy-handed in using anti-terrorism statutes, more amenable to addressing global warming, hostile to even partial privatization of Social Security, opposed to drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, to name a few.

The path is less clear on some of Kerry's signature campaign proposals.

Kerry says his first order of business as president would be to "send Congress a health care plan that stops spiraling costs, covers every child in America, and makes it possible for every American to get the same health care as any member of Congress."

But the sheer scope of the proposal and the price tag ? anywhere from $653 billion to $1.25 trillion over 10 years, by outside estimates ? guarantees plenty of resistance. He's made other big-ticket proposals as well: a $2,500-a-year tax credit for college tuition, for one.

Kerry says he can finance his proposals by rolling back Bush's tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans, closing various loopholes and getting allies to help share the burden in Iraq. But there is huge skepticism that he could deliver all he has promised and still meet his promises to cut the deficit at least in half within four years and not to raise taxes on people earning less than $200,000.

"On the big stuff, on Iraq, on the tax rollback, I don't see Congress being cooperative," said Barry Burden, a professor of government at Harvard University. Still there are other areas where Congress might be more amenable.

For example, Kerry's calls to increase financial support for schools under the No Child Left Behind (search) law and to strengthen homeland security by doing more to protect ports and inspect airline cargo would be hard for Congress to resist politically, Burden said."

Eddie, Thank you for pointing out the factual error in Ferds remarks. As for Kerry accomplishments Dogs there are many. Starting as a young man his work to end the war in Vietnam among them. Like many others he saw what was going on over there and took to the streets to help end it. He took a leadership role in that. Many times coming up against that Swift Boat Ad lying creep O'Neil, who if he had it his way that useless war would still be being fought. Ending the war meant freeing the POW's. If left up to people like Bush and Cheney who wanted to keep the war going (as long as they didn't have to fight) no one knows how many more Americans would have given their lives.

ED - It is the same thing and you know it. Why can't you admit that both parties have put up a slate of idiots for us to choose from. Those blinders you are wearing make it so easy to faciilitate that tunnel vision you suffer from.

And while we are at it what do you think? Do you believe that if Kerry is elected stem cell research will advance to the point that people in wheel chairs will be able to get up and walk? Do you believe that?

Instead of attacking the messenger, it would be nice if you would address the message. Do you think that Edwards' comment is accurate? Do you think that Kerry's election will lead to people abandoing their wheelchairs? Or do you think he was guilty of exaggerating?

I have heard Dem commetator after commentator say the sames things about swiftboats lies--but all fail to point out the lies as does Kerry Also you have numerous people not just O'neil.
Now I will point out blatant lies of his crew and his.
Sandusky on O'reilly when asked if he deserved early out of Viet Nam He said anyone "shot" 3 times deserved it.
Boston Globe emloyee "forgot name but named in another thread Comes out couple months ago and said he remembers "vividly"seeing Kerry dive in water to save Rassmusen when Kerry and Rassmusen both say he pulled him up from cargo netting. Then theres Kerry's Cambodia episode "seared" in his mind.
Many other contadictions between his own people--butI will say this it was a long time ago. I have found a couple "stretched" by Swiftboat personell also.---and he can diss the war all he wants but dissing the troops that served in Nam is unexcusible and simply exploiting brave soilders for his own personal gain.

and while I can't say it for all the people in Swiftboats I can say it about O'neil--unlike all these people promoting books for their own welfare he is donating 100% of any of his proceeds so I would have to believe it was done to satisfy his convictions which is rare this day and time. Can't say Kerry did the same, however one note of interest is all his books with the hippies flying upside flag in defiance of those at Iwajimi (spl) sure disappeared from market in last 6 months--I wonder why--and there is him not releasing his military records--I wonder why--I would assume he prefers his self projected record--and sure don't see media filing lawsuit for them like they did Bush.

O'Neil fought very hard to keep that awful war in Vietnam going. While others were trying to stop it he was going on tv promoting it. What would you call someone who promotes a war that should not be fought? I guess that is the question.
I am sick and tired of the Republicans trying to grab one phrase out of a speech and taking it to mean something it clearly is not. Anyone with half a brain, would know exactly what was meant by Edwards words. But it doesn't surprise me that some on the right would have a hard time with it because to this very day they still think Vietnam was the right war to fight and Nixon must have been wrong when he finally pulled the plug on it.
