So. Cal
i would bet my last dollar if Gore said that it was leaves laying on the ground that was the cause of global warming more would be on board but since its the energy industry the right wing nut jobs will never believe. They have their neocon nitwit radio along with their nitwit brainwashing token media guys that have pushed them to not believe any thing this guy says. What is Gores gain here? We all know what the neocons gain is.

are you serious?

have you checked out some of the companies that gore is invested in, or boards he resides on?

kind of ironic that some of those companines are in the "carbon credits" industry.

i'd say he has a lot to gain.....wake me when he rides light rail or takes a bike to work.

Kosar i really don't think this is something democrats should keep pouncing on but if you think the sun isn't warmer than 20 years ago you need to go outside more. You can feel the sting of the sun till around 6 30 around here. Is it global warming? I don't know but its something. I never felt that sting back 15 years ago. Probably 4 415 and that was it.

Sponge,
Now I'm not a 'global warming' guy, and I wouldn't even have made a post here except for the fact that this very issue came up at work last night. One of my buddies made the comment that he "couldn't believe how hot the sun has gotten lately". Of course it threw me for a loop after reading this yesterday, so I asked him "what do you mean"? He said, "Yeah, I used to be able to work for hours outside with my shirt off, but in recent years the sun's been too intense". He also mentioned the ol' left arm exposure to the sun after driving and how burned his arm became one time last summer. I asked him if he didn't think it was because he's older now and more sensitive to the sun. Of course the type of guy he is...he simply responed "who the hell knows...I just know the sun's more intense now."
Just adding my litle two cents worth...it just floored me that it came up after reading this yesterday.

Thank you my brother. i started thinking maybe the one guy was right and its because im getting older. Im telling you if you lay out you can still get a tan till around 630. That was never the case when i use to lay out in my twenties. 4 415 and that was it. This isnt my imagination lots of union carpenters have notice this. They start work and hour early now to get home an hour earlier because of the heat. My problem with all of this stuff is its gonna be a nice reason to hike up my electric bill.

Ian Murray is a flack for Republicans. Who cares what Gore's motives are? And why wouldn't we want to lessen our dependence on oil by reducing consumpiton which this imbecile never addresses in his silly one sided column. Also, ask People in Southern California about the last couple of years and what the change in temps has already been. We are setting records on a consistent basis and he never references any facts on his disputing that 10 of the last 11 years have been the hottest. By the way, I guess the US is the only informed country on Kyoto because everyone else signed the thing. Bozo Bush and Cheney have simply protected their buddies in the Energy industry and not ever looked at why we need to fight wars in the Middle East and sweat out the security of Saudi Arabia which is about as democratic as Iran or Iraq before the War.

It won't matter much to anyone here over 21. But your kids and for others your grand kids it may. That is if even part of what Gore has said is true or comes true. We do know everyone said we had no acid rain. And they were dead wrong. And there are those say ice cabs are not melting that much. And it seem they are or maybe dead wrong. Time will tell. Let the scientist fight it out. But be careful of those that are paid by big industry.

DJV,

Great Point, what if he is right? The worst case scenario is you clean the environment and spend some money.....a total tragedy! The Flip side...destroy the environment for the next couple of generations. I think Old Al is on to something and if that means I shouldn't be driving a Hummer of whatever, I'm okay with that. Prick Cheney won't like it but he'll be dirt surfing when the the real chit hits the fan here.

Here's a 'reply', Sponge.

Before I get too worked up about 'global warming', i'll need more than your, or anybody elses 2 year 'sample' about tan sequences. That includes TT's buddies, or whoever.

It's 'Maher', by the way. Not a big spelling police guy, but after 15 times?

I dont think i spelled it that way 15 times Kosar. Now maybe I spelled it 15 different ways then you have me here. Even tho you found another way to insult me i appreciate the correction. If you find anything else i do grammatically and i know there is a lot let me know. I actually appreciate it. english wasn't one of my favorite courses. Seems like i always had an asshole teacher in english. Im a firm believer the teacher makes the course. I don't live that far from Raymond. Maybe we had the same teachers.
that is also a 20 year tan evaluaation
