More help needed...

I finally was able to download Mappoint however when trying to install I get this message right before installation begins:


You cannot install Mappoint over a network unless you perform an administrative installation. For more information about administrative installation of mappoint see the deply mappoint over a network help topic, or read the readme file on the cd.

Well, since this is a kazaa download I do not have the CD, and have spent an hour trying to figure this out, however, I am not that computer literate. I need your help...some come on computer guru's....

windows xp, 98 etc..??

I have Windows ME

And this is a personal cimuter at home. I do have the broadband run through a router that is setup to send info wirelessly to my laptop. (But that shouldn't matter, I believe.)

No I did not use that link, that was specific add on information that is useful to those that have the program, not the program itself.

I appreciate the help, and if you ever find another site that is offering the full version (no trial) let me know again, as well. (Especially if this doesn't end up working!)

Make sure your the ADMIN of your own computer..

I dont know if you need to for ME but ..

go to start/control panel/user accounts

but this may not be the case for ME!

What is weird is that there is not other accounts. So I am the admin, but do not know what an admin install is...

DAmn!!

The install wizard comes on, everything is fine,, then when you click install, that damn thing pops up telling me I need to do an admin install. Just frustrating!!

?? Litle confused on the question, as there is no link to the DL? Just the box pops up mention go to the deploy mappoint over a network help topic . Which I don't have, do to the Kazaa download.

This is a page of direct downloads for it, you shouldn't have problems downloading or installing. This is a different link from the one I left earlier for you.

I Believe what it is asking you for is the coding on the back of the C.D. which you don't have as you don't have the C.D. You shouldn't have that problem downloading from the link I left.

I must be getting slow in my old age. That page is still information of data that can be added to Mappoint once you have installed the program. I am not sure of the Serial Number because even though this is from Kazaa it goes through the typical install and I would be prompted for the SN, which is no problem getting.


DJTranks-

The information is MapPoint 2002, and the install is the first disk. Some say ISO Disk1.exe, some say Mappoint1 exe. You'll be able to tell when it is up and you type this after clicking software: Mappoint 2002
