carib just put an updated line on michigan/ohio state.
number looks pretty sharp, as its been reduced one point since it was last posted.

#127 Michigan vs Ohio St (2002 College Football Games Of The Year)(Goes 11/23/2002) 11/16 12:00 pm
Michigan +6 -110
Ohio St -6 -110

while we're on the subject of future rivalry games, doesnt this line look a little "odd"?

#149 Florida vs Florida St (2002 College Football Games Of The Year)(Goes 11/30/2002) 11/23 12:00 pm
Florida +8.5 -110
Florida St -8.5 -110

really think florida could win that game straight up.

as far as ohio state michigan goes, im kinda regretting not jumping on michigan (+7) when it was available, but i actually expect ohio state to win fairly convincingly this week, which will probably jump the michigan number back up and then ill be glad to jump on the wolverines as a strong play.

take it all fwiw. just wanted to post a semi-official ohio state/michigan line thats available to bet at some places

I would tend to agree with Gman here on the Florida game, I would not be surprised if they win outright . I disagree on OSU-Mich, at this point without really looking at some mean numbers and without evaluating this weeks results I would have to side with OSU here. OSU at home has been a bear all year and facing a team that is not a stellar Mich team, I can see no reason why OSU doesnt win this game. Although, next week throw everything out the window due to rivalalry week, I will wait to cast my lot in this game.

Thegridiron - Wow! All this time I thought that in NCAA FB teams get ranked up or down depending on the outcome of a game. If you win and others lose you move up, if you lose you move down. But since you said that they, "..are in no way shape or form a top 5 team." it must be true and all this time both the polls as well as this thing called the 'BCS' must be lying to the public. Thanks for clarifying that for all of us!

bigdad, with all due respect, gridiron is correct. ohio state is about as phony a #2 team as you will ever see.

i give credit where credit is due, the bucks have found ways to win games. but imo, theyre the 3rd best team in their own conference. the big ten as a whole is pretty lame this year.

seriously though- putting ohio state in the same class as miami, oklahoma, and texas is insulting to those other teams. hell, florida and florida state would both hammer ohio state.

dont mean to stir the pot and make a huge deal over this. obviously we all have our opinions. but this ohio state team isnt even close to the 2nd best team in college football. yes i know they can only beat who they play, and theyve done that, but maybe one year ohio state will sack up and schedule an elite non-conference game so that the bucks can have one solid win to possibly hang their hats on. the trio of kent state/san jose/cincinnati was laughable.

gman2 - if you are correct than OSU will lose on of the two reamining games vs. Illinois and Michigan. IF NOT, that proves that FOR THIS YEAR:

1) They ARE the best team in the conference.

2) They ARE better than the teams below them that you listed such as Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, Florida St. since they have yet to lose. Until a playoff system is put in place, saying a team with one or two losses can beat another team is meaningless as we would never know.

3) They are the number 2 team in the country seeing as how they won't leapfrog Miami should they also win out in the regular polls.

Also, FYI next year they start with Washington, two weeks later play NCSt. and have in-conference games @PSU, Michigan, Wisky again, while playing Iowa and MSU at home. They will have a much tougher schedule, a seasoned team and will be a pre-season top 4 team. Get used to hearing the OSU banter for some time...

bigdad:

thx for reply. can respect your opinion.
only thing i cant agree on is that osu is better than texas or oklahoma "just because their record is better". not sound logic imo. as a bucks fan, which you appear to be- you should look objecitvely at the teams strengths and weaknesses. as far as oklahoma and texas go- given the fact they played head to head this year, someone HAD to lose that game, so someone is taking a loss. these next two weeks will tell a lot. osu pulled a miracle out last week. that will either be a springboard to an undefeated season, or it could zap them emotionally and leave them vulnerable this week.

enjoy the game this week.
gl man

(btw- can we agree on this--> clarett is smoked out if he thinks he can make the jump to the pros after this season. he's injury prone every game taking hits from purdue and other middle of the road big 10 teams? the pro game is only SLIGHTLY more physical. he should stay in school at least 2 more yrs)

gman2 is correct, the schedule out of conference must of been made by Tom Osborne. Bigdog, bringing out the point about OSU Big Ten tough schedule is rather weak, the conference has been down for a few years. Miami, Okl, Tx, USC, Alabama, Florida, a healthy LSU are all better teams than OSU. OSU should win out they play a terrible Illinois team and a down Mich team, you should be thankful there is no playoff OSU if seeded #2 would be drubbed by the 7th seed.
