"Obama" took down ALL the online poker sites and gambling sites? Really? Interesting perspective. Based on what, exactly? Let's see, could it be the 2006 law republican senate majority leader Bill Frist tacked on to the port security bill that was signed into law by George W. Bush? That law?
Believe me, I have my wonderings about what goes on with gambling and the legislature - several legislators have deep pockets when it comes to gambling donations (Harry Reid comes to mind). But to say Obama is to blame for this is a pretty big stretch, considering Kyl, Frist and other conservatives have sponsored bill after bill to kill gambling in this country - and the bills found a welcome audience and passed with a republican senate majority and President with a pen.
Besides, I thought conservatives are always concerned with enforcing the laws already on the books to take care of most of our problems? Otherwise, democrats are weak, right? Interesting, I guess that only matters if it's the laws you personally believe in? :SIB
Whoa... I know Frist put the law in, but nobody went after individual sites until Obama. He didn't have to do it - he chose to.
That's the big problem with Obama (and to a lesser extent, other presidents). But Obama does feel his is King, and that his OPINION trumps the constitution and laws that are on the books.
He has said he won't enforce illegal immigrant laws, unless they are commit a crime (ignoring the fact that his uncle is a danger to society but still let him in).
Well, last I looked, being an illegal immigrant IS a crime - and should be deported as such.
And what about DOMA? Obama basically said he doesn't agree with the law, so he won't enforce it. Since when can a dictator (Obama) make that judgement?
You can bet on this - IF a Republican is in the White House in 2012, I'll bet the 1st thing he'll do is say that he does not agree with Obamacare - and he'll force HHS to not enforce it. And that will be that.
The Dems will scream to high heaven, but since Obama will have set the standard for the President to unilaterally decide which laws should be enforced, nobody will be able to say a damn thing.
And that will be a wonderful time.
Now, if the Republicans can find a candidate worthy of being elected, well that is another story....
But at least the Dems don't have one either (unless, of course, Obama gets a primary challenge from Hillary or someone else, which is becoming more and more possible each day)
