I have another question. First there is no doubt in my mind they played games with the comps and I am going to the Attorny General on that.

I have paid my rent in the apartment we had for this month. I am good until the 31st.

Problem is that when I went over tonight to get a few things the doors were wide open and painters were painting the walls and all my stuff was in a pile in the livingroom.

Not only that but after I got the painters to get out they told me to leave the door open so they could get back in.

Of course I told them to tell the landlord I ain't leaving no doors open plus I don't want them in there while I still have the place.

There has to be a law against this. I am calling the landlord tomorrow morning to tear him a new a#$$hole. :cursin: :cursin: :cursin:

stevie...

i'm really sorry to hear about all of your problems....it's really unbelievable what you & your family are going through.

don't know about mass. law but out here, even if a tenant is leaving, a landlord must give 48 hour notice that either the landlord or his workers will be on the premises.....after that the tenant can't say anything......i would think that mass. has a similar law....

why don't you see if a representative from the attorney general can hear your whole story.

good luck.

Heaven, oh!!, this isn't it?!
Why dont you ask BTJ what to do, he is a landlord in South Boston. I think some of his tenants are squirrels :scared :mj07:

Seriously.............
WTF.............. :scared :cursin:

Each state has laws as to what the landlord can do regarding entering their property. In Wisconsin, its 24 hours notice, but some counties/cities can pre-empt that rule, and where I am at it is 12 hours.
I own a bunch of rental properties, one of my businesses, and I always call and wait for confirmation before I will go inside. This can be a real headache for me, but trust me, the last thing I want to do is have to deal with the tenant resource center :cursin:
Stevie, see if there is such a center where you live. Do you deal direct w/ the landlord or management company? I would try the nice approach, and if the guy is a jerk back, then call the police, and file a coplaint for criminal tresspass for both the painters and him/her. That will get them HOPPING! :mj14:
Then tell him you will expect some sort of compensation to not press charges........
Hope this helps, and sorry about the joke, its meant for the other guys in the forum, and not you. I understand how frustrated you must be :)

P.S. I forgot, Stevie, why dont you get another appraisal done by someone you dont know, and who doesn't know your situation. Just tell him you are looking to refinance. Tell him you want the fair market value as of today, and you want a "realistice price". See what they come up with. This will cost you, but if its way low, I have some other ideas :brows:

That is a great idea about another appraisal Franky, thanks.

For what it is worth I called the landlord today and started to tell him off. He knew he was wrong and said he wants to rent it out on the first. He thanked me for leaving the place in such great condition and admitted he was wrong. At that point I just asked that he keep the place locked, I got a truck and a few of my son's friends, and we got everything out tonight.

I have much bigger problems that that right now. Just another aggravation that's all.

Thanks for the support guys.
