Was a decent night on posted plays (2-1, +3.7 units). Unfortunately I went 0-3 on totals... basically broke even. Things were looking MUCH better after the early games I did not wake up in time for the US and South Korea matches... looks like I nearly got my wish of US out and Portugal winning group.

Well, that sucked eggs. Late goal in the Germany game cost me at least 4.5 units (had other bets riding as well). Had no shot whatsoever in England game, but at least I didn't stay up to watch it.

Ah, a beautiful thing to wake up to... Ireland buggered me again in the waning moments. So far 0-4 in 2nd round matches. That means the following is a mortal lock to fade:

If someone bet spain to win against ireland, does it count as a win, or is it a draw even though they won in a shootout?

All results are after 90 minutes (i.e. regulation time). Some books offer an option to bet on which team will advance - Spain would have been a winner there, albeit at -290 or so.

Draw was the winning bet in the Spain/Ireland match.

In addition to the Mexico play I am adding Belgium +1.5 tonight.

OK, I'm done. 0-6 in 2nd round matches has firmly convinced me that I'm better off watching. I still have futures bets on Spain and Japan, and against Brazil, England, Germany, Senegal and the US, but will not be making any further wagers on this World Cup.
