Just three days after falling at Lipscomb on Saturday afternoon, Morehead State men's basketball travels out west to face Eastern Washington (7-2) on Tuesday night.

"It's the greatest thing about college basketball, you don't have time to feel sorry for yourself," said interim head coach Preston Spradlin. "We've watched film to figure out what we have to do better and we have to be ready to face a really good Eastern Washington team in a big time road game. We're going to have to defend the three, which is something we've struggled with. But, we have to make those adjustments and we have to make them quickly."

The Eagles (2-6) are looking to end a six-game losing streak, their longest skid since the 2014-15 season. Morehead State has not lost seven straight since the 2006-07 season when they lost nine straight. That season they finished 12-18 on the year.

A season after ranking near the league's best in all defensive categories, the Eagles are giving up 77.2 points per game, which ranks tenth in the OVC. Their field goal percentage defense (.493) ranks 11th and their three-point field goal percentage defense (.441) ranks last.

In their last two games, opponents are shooting 30-55 (.545) from three-point range.

Despite their struggles on defense, the Eagles are still finding ways to take the basketball away. Through eight games, they are averaging 8.8 steals, which ranks 24th in the country and second in the OVC. The Eagles had 33 steals in their two wins (16.5 per game), but just 37 in their six losses (6.2 steals per game).

On offense, the Eagles' assist-to-turnover ratio is 1.4, which leads the OVC. They are averaging 17.3 assists per game, which also leads the league. They have won the turnover battle in seven of eight games this season and their turnover margin is +4.1, which ranks third in OVC.

In the loss at Lipscomb, senior DeJuan Marrero recorded his third double-double of the season and the tenth of his career with 14 points and ten rebounds. He scored a season-high 18 points and had 13 rebounds at Pitt and had 17 points and 16 rebounds against Lipscomb. His 7.8 rebounds per game rank ninth in OVC.

After starting the season with six road contests in their first nine games, and six of their last seven, Morehead State returns home next weekend. They host East Tennessee State on Saturday, and Central Arkansas on Monday, Dec. 19
