Stars left wing Brenden Morrow has agreed to terms on a new contract, ending a 12-day training camp holdout, the team announced Thursday morning.
Morrow, 23, signed a three-year deal. Terms were not immediately available. He made $895,000 last season.
"Brenden has shown the ability to become an excellent NHL player," general manager Doug Armstrong said in a statement. "We're excited to have him with our organization for the next three years."
Morrow, who had been working out in his native Saskatchewan, flew back to Dallas and was to attend Thursday's game with Washington. He will immediately begin practicing and should be ready for the start of the regular season.
Exactly where Morrow will play is uncertain. He originally was slated at left wing with Jason Arnott, although he could also fill the same spot with Pierre Turgeon. A feisty, hard-working forward, Morrow scored 17 goals last season and 51 during the past three seasons.
Finishing eight among all NHL forwards in hits (214), Morrow ranked first on the Stars in penalty minutes (109), third in hits, tied for third in game-winning goals (3), tied for third in plus/minus (+12) and fourth in goals (17).
