The trade yesterday by the Phillies may provide some motivation on what has been a rough road trip. Millwood has done well against the Cubs and the Phillies have a couple bats that have done well against Clement in Abreu and Lieberthal. The Cubs may have shot their load yesterday launching the ball and coming from behind against a pitcher that almost no-hit them previous. They haven't exactly been an offensive powerhouse this year and Clement has had a rough month to this point with one win. I believe Millwood got shelled his last time out. I'm thinking he's too good to let that happen again here against this all or nothing Cub offense. After launching the ball yesterday, I don't see the Cubs showing any patience today and they'll be swinging from their heels with the wind blowing mildly towards the right field pole across from the other corner.

In games Millwood has started against Chicago his teams are (7-1) SU.

He has given up 2 or less runs in 5 of those 7 starts! 7-2, 3.00 ERA vs. CHI lifetime

Clement's last 2 starts @ Home against the Phillies have both been losses by the Cubs and he gave up a combined 9 Earned Runs.

Thanks Jake

Thought we were both in trouble early there. I hit the sack and woke up to the top of the ninth.

Keep rolling Jake. I've seen you do this before.

Some evening action while BBQ'n

Some evening action while BBQ'n

Two small streaks gone in the Sox/Tigers game...

Sox have lost three in a row to Detroit and six straight overall.

Maroth has won three straight giving up only 6 runs over 22 innings. On the season he is 8-7 with a 4.60 on a team that does commit some errors. The Sox have previously been able to hit him hard.

Beurhle was knocked around pretty well against the Twins last time out but has had a good season with a 10-4 record with a 3.93 era. He's done well against the Tigers lifetime and usually bounces back well off a loss. Could see the Sox bats show up here after scoring only 4 runs twice and nothing more than that during this losing streak. Crede has even done well against this pitcher.

off the net...

Buehrle has given up 1 run or less Earned Runs in 7 of his last 10 starts against Detroit.
Maroth has given up 4 or more Earned runs in 4 of his last 5 starts against Chicago.

If the Sox could win today, a win tomorrow could salvage a split in this four game series with three games against KC to "get better fast" coming up after that and put the current longest losing streak of the season behind them. (sounds like a prediction LOL) The Sox aren't exactly strong on the road, but neither is Detroit have a big home advantage. It's a line drive hitters park so maybe that will play to the benefit of the Sox here without much power in the lineup.

Risking $120 on the White Sox to win $100

Going to also through $$ on Ray's Oakland play

Don't get this line with a team as bad as Oakland is on the road, against a team that is this dominating at home. Zito has done extremely well against the Rangers in the past, but this ain't your father's Ranger team, and Zito is not playing all nine positions and hitting. I'll take a shot.

risking $100 on the A's to win $110
