CMU and Under Total

CMU and Under Total

Purdue Boilermakers are an eight point favorite over the C. Michigan Chippewas in the Motor City Bowl at Ford Field, Detriot at 7:30 pm on ESPN. Central Michigan lost Sept. 15 at Purdue 45-22, but Purdue comes into tonight's game on a three-game losing streak (@ Penn St, Michigan St and @ Indiana).
Dan LeFevour, Central Michigan, QB is a duel threat in both the passing and running games - while Purdue QB Curtis Painter had five 300-yard passing performances for the Boilermakers including a 360 yards and three touchdowns performance against CMU earlier in the year.

CMU now has a much healthier secondary and a defense that has finally come together as DB Eric Fraser has returned to full form and topped the CMU defense with 10 tackles against Miami in the MAC Championship Game. LB Ike Brown, who sat out much of last season due to injury, led CMU with 2.5 tackles for loss against Miami (Ohio) on Dec. 1. Also watch out for standout LB Red Keith.

The first game between these two teams at Purdue was 67 points and the Central Michigan defense have improved dramatically in the last couple of games. Since the Over-Under line is 71 1/2 points, I really think this game goes under the total. Fully understand that this game is indoors, etc., but believe CMU steps up and plays a tight game. Prediction: Purdue 31 CMU 27 (total 58).

I will take CMU and the Under.

I can really see this game going either way... Both offenses are good and D's aren't. I can see CMU covering since its almost a home game for them. But I also can see Purdue beating them bad again... CMU hasnt beat a good team all year and the MAC sucks. Then again I can also see Purdue not really getting up for this game and getting beat or winning a close one

.

Is that so?

In their last 6 games CMU has given up

10 to Miami O

32 to Akron

48 to EMU

31 to WMU

32 to Kent St

70 to Clemson

How the heck is that improving dramatically? They improved one game. 5 of last 6 over 30, 2 over 40 & one 70 pointer. :142smilie

That D really has come together. Get your facts straight, before trying to guide someone towards a side.

Research your own crap

Research your own crap

Last two games defense stepped up:

Cent. Michigan 35, Akron 32
Only 323 yards of offense for Akron which included a 64 YD FUMBLE RETURN

Cent. Michigan 35, Miami OH 10
Only 306 yards of offense for Miami OH

:142smilie

ONLY 323 to Akron..2nd worst offensive team in the MAC? That 323 is 12 yards more than that pathetic O averaged on the season. Akron's leading RB averages 60 yards a game..he went for 145 on CMU.

Even w/ all the suspect D's in the MAC Akron only got over 30 3x...& yes 1 of those was against CMU.

Yep your stats are on point, just like that CMU D has beome a real terror. :nono:

PS Slapshot Fumble Return Yardage DOES NOT COUNT in Total Yards Against.

Actually, the fumble return yards are not included in the total yards.

Don't want to get into a debate with you but Akron is ranked 106th in total offense and Miami is 80th. When you "hold" a team to 12 yards over their average (Akron) I'm not sure that constitutes "stepping up".

I read this thread earlier and was already planning on playing Purdue and the over--but this dude's insight on the game made me hit both side and total harder...:D

You came in and stepped on my thread with you negative crap, now you post irrelevant stuff here.
I hope you can afford to lose your ten dollar bets. Loser.
Get a clue and realize the conferences don't match up.

Congrats to Over

Congrats to Over

Aim for success, not perfection. Never give up your right to be wrong, because then you will lose the ability to learn new things and move forward with your life.
In other words, another failure with a bright side.
