Saw this Friday night.
First off - trailer is misleading a little - in fact the trailer is better because you think you have an idea of what the movie is about and as you watch it - you're thinking, I was close, but my version was a little better.
Don't get me wrong - this is a good movie - not great, but good.
This isn't Gran Torino Clint.
This isn't Million Dollar Baby Clint.
This is more like A Perfect World Clint. This is closer to a film than a movie, if you catch my drift. More like Cannes film festival or Toronto film festival.
I would call this movie, a slow and drawn out way to tell a story. Clint went the long way around the barn on this one. Boring? Not quite, but almost.
There are 2 kids in this movie that makes me question the casting director. They pretty much sucked.
There is an appearance by Bryce Dallas Howard, if you don't know who she is, don't worry you will very soon. (Daughter of Ron Howard and in several BIG movies) This girl is the next Cate Blanchett. She acted everyone off the screen and she had about 10 min. of screen time. Damn. She can act and is definitely a real actress instead of a movie star.
If you watch this - expect a slow paced story with little payoff at the end.
When the movie was over, I was glad I saw it, but it will not end up in my Blue-Ray collection.
