Marine- do you have a preference in town size? A lot of the places that Bubbas is recommending are pretty small towns. If that's along the lines of what you're looking for, those are good recommendations. I live about 10 minutes from him, and I'm not exactly thrilled with the area since all the towns are so small, but then again, I'm 27 and single, so it all comes down to personal preference.

Marine,

I agree with bubbas, stay west of 94. There is a lot of development east of 94, mostly entry level homes with most people commuting to IL.

Padock Lake and Wilmont are nice areas.

Wilmont just spent millions upgrading their High School, and seems like a nice area.

I am not sure what the commute would be from Lake Geneva, but I would live there in a heartbeat. Genoa City is a nice small town in that area.

yup, my family would love Lake Geneva too... was told by my relatives to think about their vacationing needs when picking a house... as if hawaii and annapolis were not enough....

I saw Strawberry creeek subdivision... golf just aint my style.

I have been looking at a new build by KBHome at "Tyler's ridge" anyone know about that place?

The plan right now is to sell here and then live with my mom (gee, loads of fun) in Waukesha while we look for "the right place" so we will most likely be heading down to that area and getting a hotel room for a few nights a week to stay there and get a feel for the towns. I'd love to hook up with any of you guys and discuss the areas or get a tour.
Jack has my email.
Probably wont be out there until early June though, so no rush just yet.

Size of town? Well, something like new berlin or brookfield or even west allis (3rd choice) would be great.

I live just west of waukesha in oconomowoc. There's ton of development all over SE wisconsin.
Your price range for homes is good as long as you stay away from the city and you don't want much land. Franklin has some nice developments, but I would stay as far west of 94 as possible. What about Mukwonago or Muskego area or is that to far north?

My cousin lives in Salem and grabs the train to Chicago daily. Not to bad if you had to do it 1 or 2 days a week to save on car travel.

Being that I live in Pleasant Prairie, you will not be disappointed with the move here. Taxes are lower than the city. I live right near the Ill border and the area I live in the houses are nice and most are less than 10 years. Alot of movement though as most come here to live instead of Ill.
