When it comes to thinking in this country it is a very slow process. Don't be left behind Weasel because you are blessed to have a guy like me who can tell you the truth 20 years before you finally realize it.

Not hard to understand why the numbers are up at MSNBC. The network has gone completely to the left thinking that they are the "Anti-Fox News". Liberals have to love the slant Olbermann, Matthews, Russert and the rest of the clowns at MSNBC put into their broadcasts. What the powers that be at MSNBC fail to recognize is that there are many left-leaning networks on television to choose from. Fox beats them all by a bunch because it has at least some conservative hosts that reflect the views of a good percentage of Americans. MSNBC pulling hard for Obama to be our next president is probably another factor for their modest increase in viewers. I do watch the Obama network from time to time just to see how far to the left they can take it all the while thinking the viewers do not realize what is happening at the network. I do not think MSNBC will have as much success as say "Air America" has had when going off the deep end toward the left. There are just too many liberal news networks to compete with.

Have a nice evening Sponge and enjoy tonight's line-up on MSNBC, the Air America of television!!!:D

Double it just so happens to say MSNBC. I couldn't careless if it said PBS. Why is it with you guys who always seem to be wrong about everything label a guy like me left or a liberal when all i seek is the truth? Double i like the republican platform better than the Democratic platform. My problem is that i can't find any Republican that actually stands by the platform. Work hard, do the right things, family values im right there with ya buddy. Unfortunately your platform is about lying, cheating, stealing, conning the weak minded, against gays but toe tapping in the mens room, outing CIA agents and dividing people. I can't stand by that platform. For you to keep running your mouth about the so called "Liberal Media" gets funnier every time you say it. Do you do stand up?

Soak up that Kool aide Spongy--Just how pathetic does network have to be to consider gaining 9,000 viewers in a year an accomplishment:142smilie

Read your article again and see the pains they go through to avoid showing # of Fox viewers anywhere--:mj07:

Dog, the only number i care about is the 14 percent down. People are slowly wising up. Its a slow process. You should know that. You have been proven wrong more then everyone here combined and you still swear by them. Nobody likes to admit they have been conned. In this country good things don't come fast. Kinda like a stocks or gas prices. Gas goes up very fast and when it comes down it just trickles. Stocks go down real fast but when they go up its just pennies at a time. Unless you are Rumsfield or a Bush then you can find stocks like the Avian Flu stock Rumsfield somehow made over 21 million. Dogs do you have any idea if that flu was a bunch of bullshit? How about the Duct tape companies? I heard Cheney made a major score on that one. "Tape up those windows suckers"

Sponge im surprised it was not broken down a little more as in USA last month. Fox has largest number of folks over 45. How do you grow. With younger folks that have time to grow older. MSNBC has it's bigger numbers in under 30 group. It will take sometime but they have the better chance to grow.
And of course none of these cable guys come close to the evening news numbers. Even 3rd place low CBS get's around 7 million. But your looking up when NBC has over 10 million. And of course there more news show then BS we get from cable.

You mean MSNBC had one more person viewing than before. That would be about 9% increase. :mj07:

And, yes, I watch FOX less and less. 'Cept when they have the hot chicks giving the "news" updates. :142hump:

The people who really benefitted from the arrival of Fox News and it's upswing in "popularity" were the cable companies that profited from the $12 per viewer Murdoch paid to get them to start carrying the network to begin with.

Had this been a scenario where George Soros had a tv network that followed the same path of buying viewership and market share, I can only imagine how many times we would have heard about that.

I always think when ratings are broken down as some symbol of something larger, both sides are:

straw.jpg

I mean seriously. 517,000 vs. 493,000

wow, one channel gets %0.17 of America to watch and one channel gets %0.16 of American to watch.

Nearly 2 out of the next 1000 people you encounter on the street watched Fox or MSBC today.

I can feel the momentum.

Let me get this straight Sponge. I'm a comedian for running my mouth about the "Obvious" liberal bias in the media yet you use every opportunity in this forum to blast Foxs News which I admitt leans toward the right. Well Pot meet Mr. Keetle. Hypocrisy is a word that can be used to decribe most liberals and democrats in this country. You know the Al Gore do as I say not as I do crowd. Those on the east and west coast always know what is better for us folks in "Fly Over Country".

Well Mr Pot, I mean Sponge, I hope you see the point I'm trying to make and if not try to catch my stand-up show which will include a Sunday matinee.:D

Ah the obvious liberal bias in your mind because this is what has been pounded in your head by your fearless leaders. Double lets get something straight. The Tower of Pisa leans right. Fox News is neocon right. Huge difference. There is no lean here. News stations should report news and not create news. to show how much of a joke Fox News is do you remember when Foley got caught playing with the kids? Why did Fox report the story and put a D as in Democrat under his name? Was this just a slip up?

The only time Americans will "wake up" is when they stop turning to Fox or MSNBC to get news. Only a shit head would believe that either TELEVISION CHANNEL delivers real news.
It's primary objective is to ENTERTAIN, not INFORM.

So stop talking up or down Fox or MSNBC or CNN or try to argue their unique ability to deliver quality news to the American public.
When every one of these quality news networks (whichever one either side is arguing for) all cut away for a Breaking News Story detailing how Paris Hilton just got out of jail....take a step back and ask yourself what the endgame is for these "News" channels...and the answer is not objectively delivering news that can be relied upon by any intelligent individual

Entertainment is there goal not news. AMEN.
Any news that stays on a topic and tries to shape your opinion. Run From It. Like Lush.O'Rilley & Dobbs.
For new with just that news. I listen to one of the best looking Gal's on TV Robin Mead CNN Head Line News. She just gives news not any opinion's. Good way to start the day. Shes hard worker. She does 4 hours every morning. No one else comes close. Then when I want to check on entertainers I check the others.
