What a great start to this game. Right now I would rather have Jim Abbot out there.:fingerc:

I think whoever comes out of the Central will lose in the 1st round.

Well u can say what you want about mulder, he's pitching hurt I am sure. But my ? is why bet on a pitcher who has been shelled his last 3 starts going against a team that is red hot. seems like it would be a stay away go to me.

not only the pitching but st louis is in a tail spin since june. they have the worst record of any of the division leaders since then. i believe it is like 8 games under .500. They are lucky cinncy is strugglin or they would be in second place. it all started when they got pasted by the white sox and tigers.

Laugh now but the astro's are liking thier chops and don't be suprised if they don't make it interesting.

Better yet.....how could you not take the fish tonight and get the plus money. Mulder's stats on the last 3 starts sum it up. J.Hancock is doing a nice job keeping it from getting out of hand though.

Geez its real easy to handicap now that the score is 5-1. Was Florida a lock before the game started, no. Anyway if Mulder is pitching hurt, why pitch him? That makes a lot of sense. He's off the DL so is he still hurt?:142smilie

Well first off handicapping is not easy period. and second my point was that there are things called value bets. st louis currently has no value period. Thats just my take.

And yes pitchers do pitch hurt even when they are not on the d.l., especially for a team who is hurting extremely in the pitching dept. such as the cardinals. happens all the time in bases especially this late in the season. lets see mulder before he goes on the d.l. 9 earned runs, returns from the d.l. 9 earned runs. tonight if he would have stuck around more than likely 7+ earned runs. to me that says he is hurt regardless of whether they say he is or isn't. thats the warning signs i see. but hey i look at things different then others. i actually woudlnt be suprised to see him back on the d.l. soon. then it will be known for sure.

Well just as expected Mulder goes back on d.l. with a bum shoulder. This is what I was trying to point out the other day. Gambling is more than just numbers. So players do pitch hurt and play hurt. His ERA said it all, that something was wrong. Especially when a team is in the heat of pennant race and the pitching staff is slim pickens as it is.

watch out for the MARLINS and their young pitching staff.....

but IF houston makes it.....whoever plays them will be scared...there's a good chance they'll face Roger TWICE in a 5 game series AND Oswalt?

damn.

too bad houston can't score worth a damn when roger pitches...but hell, i'd watch Roger pitch a shutout everytime he goes out there.

Wouldn't it have been better to keep him on the DL so maybe he would be healthier? If he had this big of a problem it was just stupid to send him back out there. Sort of like a trainer keeping information about an injured horse, but they still run him. Whatever the case was I made my $ back the next night on St. Louis. No offense taken to your comments as there is always much to learn here.
