"After Carter made the would-be winning free throws, he stole a Samford pass to apparently seal the Racer victory. However, he made a crucial error in passing the referee the ball before time expired, and the officials awarded Samford the ball and put four-tenths of a second on the clock. That set the stage for the incredible finish"

Here is the updated version :mj07: i still can't get over this carp, fukin refs cost me $200 (got robbed at gun point here)

With 2.7 left, Bruce Carter made a dash for the basket and was fouled. He hit both free throws for a 64-62 MSU lead. Racer head coach Billy Kennedy called timeout to set up the Racers defense. Samford?s pass to mid-court was intercepted by Carter who apparently started to celebrate early and tossed the ball to one of the officials. The official ruled time didn?t run out and four-tenths of a second was placed on the clock giving Samford another chance. Samford?s Josh Bedwell threw a pass (from just past mid-court) to Travis Peterson who hit a three from the right wing for an apparent win, however there was one sticking point...the clock never started. The officials had a long huddle while both teams and coaches waited at the benches.Lead official Jeb Hartness turned to the scoring table and whistled the shot good and Samford was the winner 65-64.
