big day in college sports today, so fresh off first game success with samford thursday night i though i would post an ovc play i think has merit.


morehead st -3-: uncertainty over line morement causes to go and and take the early line here. this game is a rematch of last season's ovc championship game won by murray; however, tonight's rematch finds the racers in a difficult spot. murray just off three road games @ 76 classic in anaheim then immediatey launch into the e ky/morehead conference road trip affectionately known as the "death valley" swing among ovc members. racers barely got by in richmond thursday night, eking out a two point win as eight point favorites after fighting back from a 14 point deficit. now they must follow that up with a rematch with the revenge-minded eagles in what promises to be a jacked-up home crowd. murray's clear talent edge allowed them to dig back out of a hole in richmond; doubt that scenario can repeat tonight.

socon musings . . . first year coach jason chapel takes his app st team, n div top team in preseason polls, to birmingham 48 hrs after being surprised in chattanooga by the previously lackluster mocs. maybe now he remembers that the mocs are a different team at home during the conference schedule. wonder how this rookie coach handles prep for samford on short turnaround? interestingly short line for the preseason no.1 vs the preseason celler pick.


and speaking of the mocs, weary catamounts now play sixth game in eight days (five roadies), with early 100pm start to boot. wc basicly plays a seven man rotation; shot 35% @ samford. fatigue factor again rears its ugly head.

gonna go ahead and play eastern ill +2. panthers broke a ten game losing streak to the govs last year in charleston, and were actually picked to finish ahead of ap this year in preseason polls. almost all of govs scoring is done by four players who all played at least 32 minutes in 18 point win @ se mo thursday night, for some unfathomable reason. with this the last of ap's nine game road binge gonna give the home dog a go.

app st -2: gonna bite on the short number. as mentioned above, we have small number with preseason top n div pick vs bottom preseason pk. 'eers off the upset loss vs the mocs and samford off the big upset of western. seems unlikely app st would go 0-2 on this road trip.
