Can someone point me the right way about which software I need to purchase? I am wanting to be able to take music I buy from Itunes and burn it onto a cd instead of a shuffle.

First in your hearts.
You don't need to buy any software. iTunes will do that for free.

They've changed the settings. If you are using the newest iTunes software, just create a playlist (Pull down file menu to NEW PLAYLIST). Then from the music library drag the songs you want onto that playlist. AFter you have the playlist like you want, click on the BURN DISC button in the lower left corner that asks you for the speed and format for the burn.

Pick DATA if you are moving computer to another computer using iTunes. Pick MUSIC if you want a CD you can play in your car.

If you want to convert your purchased iTunes music to .mp3 for use on a different player, that's tuff. There is software out there to do that, but Apple squashes it as soon as it pops up. Google is your friend, as are newsgroups. If you have an old version of WMP it might convert the songs to .mp3.
