friend of mine went to high school with the girl in this show--we hung out with her for a bit last night at a bar here in Denver--seemed like a pretty cool girl--she couldn't really walk around the bar or dance, etc. because the network does not want people badgering her about the show, and she is not about to slip because she does not get paid until airing is complete--actually thought she looked better in person than on tv, but the bombay may have had some say in that as well:D

i caught the last 15 minutes of the last show & thought it was very funny. i'm going to see if i can watch the remaining shows.

I have watched every show so far and I'm getting some good laughs from it.....

A few lingering thoughts going through my mind about some scenarios and what the main principals must or could be thinking......

The teacher is in it to win some serious dollars....yet Steve is acting obnoxious and generally crude in manners......teachers gotta be thinking "why can't he straighten his act out for the short duration of this...yet the producers of the show are not going to make it easy by giving someone more sophisticated that her family would accept..."

In light of the above statement the teacher has to have some idea of the sabotage Steve is trying to create behind her back, but I'm thinking she's playing along for the reward at the end of the show.....the dollars.....

If I was a member of her family....with all the cameras around and the fact that all these reality shows are popping up outta nowhere.....I'd have to think there was something bogus about this whole situation.....therefore act correct for the show....display some disgust or anger at her choice of marrying this slob......but play along with it knowing that this in reality is not as absurd as it seems to be, there has to be a big joke going on and being this is all drawn out on national tv, that there must be some $$$ paid out in the end......

Paradox...anomaly....whatever the correct word would be......Steve is set up with the teacher to work against her.....I did not remember if I ever seen anything that stated that he got any large share of the purse if the marriage goes through, that all her family attends and no one objects......he is a paid actor and has to realize this opens more doors as far as his acting career goes......producers paying him big bucks to be the unruly spoiler yet if he is too persistent and effective then the marriage is doomed to happen and what is his compensation????

Hope that last paragraph makes sense.....

Marco, you make good perception-points,,totally agree with you.
Parents know there has to be more to it,,"just go along" and we'll all be ok in the end.
WCB4,,you stated "she won't get paid until airing is complete",,,so, you are saying she gets the money?? She did it?

This is classic. Her family, with the notable exception of her father, are really making themselves look terrible. Agree that the Mom is a real bitch.

So true. My wife pointed that out to me every episode.

I am not into reality shows but was riveted by the entire charade. I'm more interested to hear the post-show reactions of the actors, especially Steve, and what it was like to put on the charade.

I thought the girl was a cutie.

I think someone else alluded to it above, but the family was kinda gullible to not think in this day and age of reality shows that there wasn't at least some pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, or that something was up.

Most of the fun had been used up so it was time for the show to end. All in All I thought it was funny. And when the family found out it was $500.000 they seemed to be doing just fine. But if that was not acting and we were not getting the true facts. Her Sisiter and one brother could have killed someone. But im sure they all laugh about it now.

I agree, djv, it was time to end it.

Randi was going to have a nervous breakdown, or one of the family boys would have gone postal, had it gone on any longer.

But it was funny.

DR, Claudia does look like she could be a "fun" girl.
