Looks like we got some good back-and-forth debate. I love it. Still, feel pretty confident. Another point to make about Sunday, Cleveland will be the first team to see Big Ben twice, that could count for something.

Losing this bet won't kill me, but it would be fairly crippling.

Oh well, sometimes you place your nuts on the choppin block.

Hopefully, i'll be around Monday. Browns 27, Pitt 24.

Great thread gang. Tough game IMO. I`ll watch. One intangible thats tough is the Dawg Pound. Hell of a place to enter for a rookie.

Good luck Sunday folks.

Here's a good stat fellas to keep in mind for this one:

Browns are just 1-10 ats after BB SU losses vs. an opponent off DD SU win!!

I believe Pitt has some not so good stats for this situation as well, but nothing that stands out like that!! I'm on PITT here to take care of these Browns here!! They whooped them the first meeting and I think Steelers are a much more confident bunch now than they were then. Cleve already beat Balt as HD earlier and covered against Philly as well as HD....it's time to get pounded here as a HD!! Cower will not let his team get unfocused here as this is a division game and their first since beating these Browns back on 10/10! Either take PITT or pass in this game IMO....there's no way you can just rely on a so called "let down" spot and go against a team as hot as they are right now. Don't forget this is an important division game which IMO means more to them than beating two non division teams...they WILL be up for this and may not play as perfect as they have been, but WILL get the job done with this small number to lay....GL!!

this game is so damn tough to project.
it means far,far more to the browns than the steelers. browns might as well mail in the rest of the season if they dont win here. pittsburgh hasnt had an easy time in cleveland the last few years. the last four in cleveland have been decided by a combined 16 points.

obviously being a mac guy, what roethlisberger has done hasnt been completely shocking to me.

but one thing that i do think gets a little overlooked is that he has had 4 of his 6 starts at home, and one of those road starts was in the miami hurricane aftermath and all he did was handoff the ball all game.

his only real road start was in dallas. im not taking anything away from him -- beating philly and new england on any field is damn impressive.

but i think its absolutely laughable to hear people talk about pittsburgh as having a clear path to the super bowl and being this 'dominant team'.

theyre playing well, no doubt about that.

but people are acting like the browns are going into this game with a slingshot and a pebble. the records mean nothing here, especially when game is on the lakefront. browns could easily be 4-0 at home this year. 3-1 with an OT loss to philly is not too shabby. id fade the shit outta the browns on the road, because thats where they suck. but at home-- theyre solid this season.

my only hesitation in backing cleveland is that davis hasnt done well vs. pitt. he's done very well ATS, but still hasnt gotten them to win enough SU.

Just an interesting angle and trend hope this help

A team that wins straight up as a dog 3 weeks in a row and then goes on the road as a favorite has only happend 16 times in the last 25 years. It happens again this week with the Steelers. Out of those 16 times do you want to take a guess at how many times those teams have covered the spread?

It seems like almost all the discussion is in the college threads this year, and the NFL is a Saturday night afterthought. But this is possibly the best concise thread I've seen at MJ on any football game this year.

Pittsburgh has done well for me this year (and I've rode Roethlisberger B-I-G since he's bounced back huge after his lame performance in his last loss way back when at Kinnick Stadium in 2003) - but this spot does set up nicely for a small play on the division dog even if you've been riding the Pittsburgh surge - but a mortgage busting play on the Brownies? - I can contain my enthusiasm.

I'm hoping for a great game that wins Agger the money. :nutkick

P.S. I think the forum discussions are great, and I gain much and learn plenty every week - and the comraderie that exists among a crowd of gambling degenerates is equally exceptional - but if I was asked what REALLY sets Madjacks apart, I'd still have to say it's the cappers too numerous to mention, in every sport, that post and share consistent winners (i.e., Saturdays wouldn't seem the same without college football totals from hawkeye - no explanation necessary).

Thanks all around - GL

sorry agger, I respect your guts to make play and post--i teased browns to 11.5 then at half bought out seeing their lack of punch (hoping to get super lucky and win both)... I lucked out and won a tiny amount

hang in there
