My cousin played in "The Show"

I just read Big Game Hunter's link and decided to post my baseball background. I don't know sh*t about handicapping, except to bet on the best pitcher.
My cousin lived about 5 miles from me. He used to enjoy fishing. He was Best Man at my uncle's wedding. He gave my uncle one of his old uniforms. My uncle wore the hat to the uniform fishing one time and the wind blew it off his head and down river. . .never to be seen again. That hat is probably worth a couple of bucks in the memorabilia market today. After retiring from baseball, my cousin owned a bowling alley up until his health began declining. He passed away about 25 years ago.
The first person to guess who my cousin was will get my baseball "Lock of the YEAR"!!!!! Ha Ha.

O.K., so nobody wants to guess. So I'll tell you.


Considered by many to be the best left hander of all time.
My cousin was/is Robert Moses (aka Lefty) Grove.
My grandfather and Lefty were 1st cousins.
Lefty and my uncle used to go fishing together all of the time. Another Hall of Famer went with them on occasion...Ted Williams.


I'll give out my game of the year for free anyway.
