I was woke up to the tune of the house shaking like there was a Tornado outside in the front lawn! Well it was not a nader.........maybe the old lady had a comforter in the washer that was off balance, Nope............Maybe a train de-railed, Not that either...............then What? It was a 4.5 Earthquake that rocked North Alabama! I have never been involved in anything like that and don't care if I ever do again.......That is the weirdest feeling I have ever had, outside getting too drunk and getting on the tilt-o-wheel! Damn that was scary!

Wow, I saw that on the news. Had a couple back in New Hampshire many years ago, I was painting a house, felt like a tractor trailer driving by right outside.

The worst was in LA a few years ago. Was sleeping on a buddys couch, jostled me right off the couch. He wasnt fazed at all, says it happens all the time. That shit is messed up man, the Earth just shouldnt be moving like that! That city is going to fall of the face of the planet one day.

Movin back to Cali!
When the Earthquake during the Battle of the Bay hit, I was in Central Valley of California... I think I was still in jr. high.... anyway, I remember at the time we had a wet bar at my parents' house, with glass shelves holding my dad's prized "beers of the world" (classy, I know... lol). They all shattered to the ground, and my Dad, with the wisdom of Job, took us out by our hands, grabbed the lawn chairs and placed them out on the lawn, and told us all to "sit it out".

LOL, sit it out?! It rated about a 5 or 6 where we were and he wanted us to sit it out! On the lawn! Thank god nothing fell on our heads!

Anyway, stand in a doorway or crawl under a desk if you're caught in another one and things are getting crazy. :)

I too was on the couch and almost fell in the floor! The Funny thing about this whole deal is that I am a recovering addict, I have been clean for almost 6 months ( the longest I have ever been clean with not even a drink! )! I called my mother at 4 in the morning and asked her if she and my dad had just felt the house shake? I said " Mom did you feel the house moving?" her reply was " Where the hell are you at and what have you been doing?" Well after I got off of the phone and my girlfriend told her what had happened she was a little embarassed by the way she responded, but I could definately see why she reacted that way! I used to get all messed up and call them in the middle of the night talking all kinds of crazy shit! I talked to her after I got to work and she was quite happy to find out this morning that there actually was an earthquake and that I was just not out partying!

Still have earthquake legs Freak? Took me a couple of weeks to get over the Northridge one. I'll always be more scared of a 7.0 Quake then i'll ever be of some terrorist attack.

I tell you one thing, being from Alabama and not ever having been in an Earthquake, That was a Shocker for me! It did not scare me as bad as I thought, I was just puzzled because I had never experienced anything like that! The Damn House aint supposed to move unless there is a bulldozer attacking it! :nono:

Having lived in California all my life, I guess you could say I am an earthquake veteran. They aren't too bad once you get used to them.

Felt it in ATL also. Not too bad, but enough to wake me up and wonder why Buckhead was so loud on a weekday night!
