does'nt sound like the scott we've all grown to hate! 3 weeks ago it was usc would be favored by 6 no matter whom they play. We'll we all see that wrong. Good luck on your plays but really until this thread you pretty much have made no one want to even read the whole bias one way of thinking crap you write. I appreciate your ability when you can come down to our levels and be a fan ,as a whole, of this great game of college football.I remember for years when usc was a pathetic doormat. Guess thats comes with age an experience though scott. I believe after reading this thread that there is actually hope for you. Great thread and thanks from all of us you think your finally seeing the light.

Scott,

Unfortunately this is not the 1970's and no matter what you say this will be a tainted championship, when you have twenty three voters voting for Auburn in the combined polls then there is not a consensus National Champ. Sun Tzu hit the nail on the head the early polls are terrible and should be outlawed until at least the 5th game of the season. For a team to run the table in the strongest league in the country and be denied the chance to settle the issue on the field is ludacris. All year you have hyped SOS in almost 85% of your posts where is that issue now since according to the NCAA's own website Auburn has played the tenth toughest schedule in the country whereas USC has played the twenty eighth toughest. I have no doubts that Oklahoma deserves to be there since running the gauntlet of the Big 12 South is a achievemnet in itself. My question is on USC other than having to get up for Cal they have a walk through the rest of the season since they play in such a weak league that the league could not even generate enough bowl eligible teams to fill 80% of their slots. USC may very well beat Okie but if Auburn wins then in my book it will be co-national title and I am sure there are quite a few people that feel the same way.

You are the only, i repeat ONLY one to think the SEC is the best conf. in the country. All 6 computers have had Big 12 #1 or #2 and Pac 10 #1 or #2. Take a look! SEC is rated pretty low by all 6 computer polls. SEC conf. teams all have poor SOS. Why? THEY ARE NOT THE BEST CONF.! Then again you not provide any data supporting your opinion.

Then you mention the NCAA website SOS. You FAILED to explain how they calculate SOS and why that is a good site to determine SOS. IT IS BOGUS! I advise you to go read the NCAA WEBSITE on how they calculate SOS and you won't be posting their SOS anymore.

arrow

In some parts of your write-up you said nice things and others were on the negative side. Everytime I express an opinion I have something supporting it. I explain my way of thinking. That is what intelligent people do when they debate. So I have no idea why you say "no one want to even read the whole bias one way of thinking crap you write" when I have objective/subjective data supporting my opinion. Then again, you prob. respect those who say the SEC is tops and have nothing to back it up vs someone who expresses their opinion and explains why. Who says you must debate both sides or take both sides in an argument? Doesn't make sense to me but you have the right to your opinion. You see, I just explained why I disagreed with you.

One more thing, if USC beat UCLA by 20+ pts USC would be favored by 4-6pts. USC now is -3. USC won a close game @UCLA and OU dominated CO noth nationally televised. USC f***ed me.

Good luck handicapping the bowl season!

...personally, everyone knows where I stand on the SOS and which conf is better issues....

However, what I made the post to say is that...anyone...and I mean ANYONE that wouldn't hedge a 9-1 large wager on this game with Oklahoma + ML...is one crazy SOB. :scared

scott:

btw- you have yet to make any comment on the following issue.

2 weeks ago, you told us that arizona state deserves to be a top 10 team. you were very adamant about this.

you gave all kinds of SOS numbers.

and they really made a strong case for the pac10......by going out and losing as a 2 TD favorite to a 2-win team.

whether or not the sec is the best football conference is irrelevant. whether or not the big 12 is the best football conference is irrelevant.

one thing is for certain: the pac 10 is neither #1, nor #2.

My orginal USC bet was $1500 to win close to $12,000, something like that. Then 4 weeks ago I dumped more money on USC so now I have 5k to win 17.5k. Friday night I bet prop $950 to win over $1500 on USC NOT winning the BCS NC at pinny. So I have hedged somewhat. I was hoping to bet 5k on OU +200 ML but USC f***ed me there. Now I am determing what I am gonna do. I prob. will still bet 5k more on OU ML or pts or both. I keep hoping the line goes up. Thank god its not going below 3 yet.

If USC was playing Auburn I wouldn't hedge unless I got AU over +200 ML.

gman2

I never said I felt the Pac 10 was #1 or #2. (I know you didn't accuse me of saying that) I said the 6 BCS Computers felt that way.

I did say ASU deserved to be ranked in the top 10 and I gave a strong argument as to why. Now that they lost to Arizona, they obviously don't. Remember, ASU/Arizona game is a rivalry. Look at USC and how close they played UCLA and Michigan getting BLOWN out by OSU. Hard to fault a team losing to a rival.

And since no one else has said it - Auburn was playing Bowling Green until BG backed out to get more cash playing OU.

ok scott

ok scott

i only agree with you on one thing you said, they fuked you. Now tell me this, why did'nt usc kick the 18 yard field with 8 minutes left, and at 5 minutes kick the field goal. lucky they did'nt lose the damn game for piss poor coaching.Of course i lost the o/u by a half, so in your defense i was a little pissed at usc. And to your reply about debating and giving evidence of why you feel the way you do. Many support lists you give us are so much a bias opinion. not fact. Remember what gman told you about ariz. st. and your arguement, i remember that and thats a perfect example of the sos you were beriddling the rest of the top college football teams with. stats that don't mean anything. And I WATCH probably more football games and coaches interviews than 90% of all people in the betting business. I know the big ten probably as good as anybody and i'm from iowa and a huge iowa fan, but you don't see me give bias opinions about how iowa is better than all but a handful of teams out there. I believe this site and these threads are for the common gambler who wants to give thier own views on who and why they like certain teams to cover or not cover. Not only about USC FOOTBALL. I will admit you are a great Fan Of USC football, and they do have a great team. But in fairness to what everybody has been telling you, the pac ten was week, the sec was a great conference, and oklahoma played a tough schedule and went undefeated as did auburn. I believe there are several teams that could beat usc on a week to week tough schedule. The waiting diffently plays favorable for the coaching staff of sc. I hope you get to go to the game,as it should be great. I myself will be betting oklahoma and the over, as i feel sc defense will have some holes in it. I will also be in sunny florida watching the best team in the big ten RIGHT NOW, thats the IOWA HAWKEYEES. I love iowa and the under in a tease versus LSU. good luck and thanks for being able to take all the constructive criticism we all deserve to give you, loll.

Don't worry we won't hear from Scott too much when Oklahoma thrases USC & exposes them for the frauds that they are.

The BCS is a joke as they jobbed the #1 team in the land in Boise State who will win outright as 2 td dogs against Louisville.

Scott,

Yes I am the only one in America that feels that the SEC from top to bottom is the strongest football league, so I guess you had better start a letter writing campaign to ESPN and tell Herbstreit, Alberts, Corso and Pat Forde that the SEC is not the best football league in the country. Again you have failed to address the platform that was put out there for you on why the Pac 10 was unable to even fill their bowl slots, this comes on the coattails of your inability to answer previous questions as to what was the Pac 10's record against the Big 12 this year. As of today the Pac 10 is still regarded as the 5th best conf in the country by nearly all national analysts the rankings in the top three are subject to different interpretations but in general the rankings are as follows: SEC, BIG 12, ACC, BIG 10 then the Pac 10. The SOS that you love to quote are usually bias and thats why they have been scaled down whereas the NCAA strength of schedule is unbiased the numbers speak for themselves and they offer three different strength of schedule criteria's that all have Auburn ahead of USC. The Pac 10 is similar to the Big East when Miami was in their prime, they had one big game a year in the league with usually Va Tech and then coasted the rest of the year which holds true for USC as they only have Cal as a above average team in their league. If you contrast that to the SEC, a goodteam would have to play LSU, Georgia, Florida, Tenn which are three above average teams, and even the off games like South Car, Bama, Ole Miss are tougher match-ups then USC gets in the Pac 10.

Betting on OU is a strong play. You def. can make great argument. I think experience is OU's major advantage. However, I am not gonna wish you luck on the play. :)

To answer your question why USC didn't kick the FG with 8min. left is because didn't USC just convert a 4th down and 1 on a previous drive? Lendale White all year has been money on short yardage downs but came up short on that one. Everyone knew it was coming and Chow was not imaginative. A Leinart bootleg easily would hve gotten the 1st down as UCLA rush everyone up the middle. I think it was a decision of getting the 1st down, eat more clock, and try and get a TD to put the game away. Up until the last 2 games, USC kicker has been horrid. I don't like him! :)

Many support lists you give us are so much a bias opinion. not fact.

What have I given that is biased? Not sure what you are talking about.

Master Capper

You still quote the NCAA SOS rankings yet you don't explain how they calculate it and why that is the best way to calculate SOS. I explained why it is bogus. It is clear as night and day why it is flawed.

What support do you have that the SEC is #1 conf. in the country? You always say it but you never have anything supporting your opinion.

Again you have failed to address the platform that was put out there for you on why the Pac 10 was unable to even fill their bowl slots, this comes on the coattails of your inability to answer previous questions as to what was the Pac 10's record against the Big 12 this year.

YOU NEED 6 WINS TO BE BOWL ELIGIBLE. THE PAC 10 TEAMS WHO DID NOT MAKE IT TO BOWLS WOULD HAVE PLAYED La. Monroe, Citadel, and La Tech, they would be bowl eligible. You just need 6 wins to be bowl eligible.

Oregon played Indiana, @OU, and Idaho. Replace OU with a cupcake and Oregon is bowl eligible. Oregon going on the road to play OU cost them a bowl game.

WSU played @New Mexico to open season, Colorado, and @Idaho. That is pretty tough OOC schedule for a team who had GRADUATED THEIR WHOLE TEAM LAST YEAR!

If either of those teams played La. Tech, La Monroe, and mighty CItadel for an OOC schedule, I guarantee you both teams would have been bowl eligible. CLEAR AS NIGHT AND DAY and I answered your question!

Yes Big 12 beat the Pac 10. CO and OU both played in the Big 12 Champ game and both beat Oregon and WSU who are not even playing in bowl games. Then OSU beat UCLA @UCLA on the 1st game of the year where UCLA was replacing their whole DL and OSU is an excellent rushing team. Congrats to Big 12.

I never said Pac 10 was better than the Big 12 and NEVER said the Pac 10 is the #1 conf. in the country.

The SOS that you love to quote are usually bias and thats why they have been scaled down whereas the NCAA strength of schedule is unbiased the numbers speak for themselves and they offer three different strength of schedule criteria's that all have Auburn ahead of USC.

There you go again. YOu shout out your opinion or make an accusation but you having nothing to support it.

If you contrast that to the SEC, a goodteam would have to play LSU, Georgia, Florida, Tenn which are three above average teams

NONE of those teams would beat CAL and i will say maybe 3 would prob. beat the 3rd place Pac 10 team. But then again, we have very little to judge those teams by. Most of them play pussy OOC just like the SEC on average does. FL lost to Miss. St. and has not looked great this year at times. Tenn I def. would not say is an above average team. ND beat them @TN, and they struggled and prob. should hve lost to Kentucky and Vanderbilt. LSU has no quality wins IMO and struggled badly to beat Oregon St. and Troy AT HOME! SHould have lost both games or at least to OSU. Thanks to 3 missed PATS and superb late 4th quarter drive.

even the off games like South Car, Bama, Ole Miss are tougher match-ups then USC gets in the Pac 10.

How did those 3 teams do in OOC play when they actually played a quality opponent? CASE CLOSED!

Mr Hockey

Don't worry we won't hear from Scott too much when Oklahoma thrases USC & exposes them for the frauds that they are.

What does USC need to prove to you they are not frauds? Makes no sense. That said, I think OU has at least a 50% chance in beating USC and they have huge advantage in the experience department. They possibly could beat USC by double digits. Remember, USC has only lost by double digits once in the Pete Carroll era and that was by 11pts @ND in year 1 of Carroll.

I think it is amazing that some OU players will be playing in their 3rd BCS NC game. Pretty cool.

USC beats OU handily & I will be here to congratulate you on being the best even though to a degree it will be debatable since a few other undefeated teams didn't have a crack at them. This isn't the Trojans fault though, but the BS system.

Do you think there will be a split champion again if Auburn wins their game? I think there will be some good enough reasons for it to be the case.

The Pac 10 did get hosed again with California. If I was a recruit I wouldn't want to play out there, no guarantee you won't get hosed.

So Cal
Scott

Don't back out now. All year you talked about how MIGHTY the Trojans are.
I was hoping for a cocky full of confidence thread of how the trojans will smack the sooners.
IMO they win by at least 14+ pts.

BTW
I don't think your opinion is biased at all
I've watched all the Trojans games this year
and completely agree that USC is the best team in the country
and have been all year.

ALSO
Everyone crying about AU not playing 4 the NC needs to stop.
The BCS was designed to put the 2 best teams to play 4 the NC
Clearly USC is #1 and OU is #2. I think they got it right!!

maybe I'm crazy but I'll be playing Va Tech ML .
I'm not impressed with AU and think this is by far the toughest game for them. Hopefully they lose then it will be undisputed that USC or OU is the NC's(hoping it's USC)

The only thing holding me back of being real confident in USC is EXPERIENCE. OU has it, USC doesn't. USC is very very young in most units on the team. OL for USC is a concern of mine. USC DB's are also a concern of mine vs OU WR's. OU is also a balanced team and you MUST be balanced to beat USC. I think there are TOO MANY unknowns in this game for me to be confident. Everyone thinks OU is so dominant because they have looked REALLY REALLY good their last 3 games. But their last 3 opponents were CO, Nebraska, and Baylor. I have to watch some USC practices and see if USC has a completely new offense for OU which I think they do. USC has been pretty vanilla on offense all year.
Plus USC been injured at different areas all year and should be 100% for OB.

But that is why I laugh whenever people call me a "homer." I simply tell it like it is and support my opinion. Every big USC bet I posted here I have won and every thread I was called a homer. This year I had zero big USC bets and wouldn't a homer bet on their team?

Mr. Hockey

Do you think there will be a split champion again if Auburn wins their game? I think there will be some good enough reasons for it to be the case.

NO!

Last year USC was voted unanimously #1 by both the AP and Coaches Poll. AU is voted #3 in AP and Coaches poll. Coaches poll is FORCED to vote the winner of the BCS NC game #1 and the AP can vote whoever they think is #1. AP now has USC #1, OU #2, and AU #3. If OU beats USC, why would they jump AU past OU? For AU to get a split NC, they needed to be ranked #1 AP or at the very least #2 AP.

I think AU's best chance is for Leinart to get injured in practice, OU beats USC, but AP thinks it was too easy for OU to beat an injured USC team, so they vote AU #1 because they demolished V-Tech. (AU HAS TO BEAT V-TECH BIG)

Scott,

Maybe in your mind their will not be a co-national title, but I can assure you that in mnay people minds if Auburn wins out they will be regarded as a national champ. Regardless of your beliefs if Auburn wins out there will always be a feeling that they are the best team and the national title was tainted.
