Clem,I think the 1st thing to do is find out the facts about her using it.Is the boyfriend taking the rap or are both involved.
I deal with ecstasy at my HS all the time.I get parents every week with "can't be my kid".There on the national honor society, straight A's,etc.Kinda like you.
Good kids take drugs In the past 2 yrs we had 2 kids die of herion overdoses Both kids were good kids. And when their caught there "defensive mod" sets in.It wasn't mine,I was hanging with the wrong kids, etc.
I think you have to determine the real facts about what happened and how they got busted.
The 2nd thing to do is learn about "X",dex,Eve and the many other street names.
"puts holes in your brains and the swiss cheeze of brain drugs".
Someone already gave you the Vault site about E.Read it.go to google and see all the sites.
I see it at my school after the kids do it.Kids will come in school depressed, bugged out, crying for no reason, etc.
Then when we questioned them many will admit to taking E over the weekend.
Talk to your daughter about it.If her boyfriend is doing it she is.No way they are going to a party together and only he is doing it. "E" needs a dance partner.Unless he has all his friends with him and he's hanging out with them..
If she admits to doing it then she needs some education on it.
3rd is the punishment phase.Thats up to you guys.I have a 19 yr old daughter and she last yr at a party in college had a sizure.Shooting vodka.Spent nite in a hospital. They tested her to see if someone spiked her drink. We had her tested at Columbia Preb. She hasn't drinkin since.
The doctors took her driving away for 3 months as they monitored her.
But punishing is hard on 19 yrs old.We can't ground them anymore. You can take away her crdit card, car computer, etc. But like any teenager that doesn't stop them.
But thats up to you guys.Concentrate on "did she take it,why she shouldn't,etc.
I have a 15 yr,18,19 and 24 yr old.My wife and I worry all the time.Boyfriends, girlfriends, their peers, etc all have an influence on them no matter what we as parents taught them.
And besides having 3 teens their Daddy grew up in the late 60's and early 70's Woodstock era.I could write a book about crap I did.
grab your daughter with your wife and hug her and say we love you.Now lets talk....
