Love the Chicago Bulls in the eastern conference this year. With the addition of PJ Brown and Ben Wallace they have an interesting mix of youth and veterans. They play in thie most competitive division in the NBA but I will call for a 50+ win season and a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals..........only to lose to New Jeresy. Watch Orlando, there going to sneak up on some people too.

Personally, I think they made too much of an overhaul. They play great perimeter defense, but I think they will still struggle on the offensive side of the ball in stretches, which will cause them to lose some games.

Orlando will be a team on the rise. D. Howard is a monster!

chicago seems to be the trendy pick in the nba this year. still not sure how the bulls are going to leapfrog detroit, miami, and cleveland. i do agree that orlando is a good sleeper. they started to show significant improvement in the final weeks last year.

Chicago
The Bulls will be better not just by the additions made. It's also by getting that anchor Chandler out of the way. He probably cost them 5 to 10 wins on his own. Another thing is the remaining youth will better know what their roles are in the Skiles grand scheme of things. Unless Cleveland decides to show a little more interest in playing some team D, they won't grow any. The King can't do it all.

Chicago
I hear ya SD

They are still a good 2 or 3 years away from being a top notch team. I really think they will be much more improved. Remember, they gave Miami all they could handle last year and will bring more to the table this year.

It was beyond impressive, I will stand by my initial prediction, 50+ wins and a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals only to lose to the Nets. If you listen to Sir Charles on the post game he believes the win the East. And Barkley is not some pandering kiss ass like the entire ESPN network.

im sure we can agree that chicago isnt quite as good as they showed on opening night, nor are they as bad as they showed tonight. the real bulls lie somewhere in between these performances.

curious who you like this year, gman2, since you often take the Sword of Damocles posterior

i think the bobcats can make a big jump in the east. i think the warriors can make a big jump in the west. i dont disagree with chicago being an improved team. i dont, however, feel they are any better than 5th in the east. still think detroit, cleveland, miami, and new jersey are better. bobcats strike me as a team that could be dangerous if they learn how to play together. their starting lineup is loaded with talent. problem is their bench stinks. but when the ball is tossed up, they can compete with anyone until the go to the bench

Rarely is a team as good as they looked when winning like that or as bad as they looked when losing. Its a 82 game season teams go through up and dowm cycles. I dont expect the Bulls to anniliate every opponent they play.......especially in a back to back against a vastly improved Orlando team. If you read my initial thread, Orlando is my other surprise team in the east. I believe the Magic will make the playoffs this year. My contention is the Bulls will win 50+ games and reach the Eastern Conference Finals. I believe their that good.
