Stewy-
What do you think about the Tribe's BP?
They say it is deep but would like your opinion.

Baseball Prospectus ranked all the bullpens using numerous factors. These were strictly based on performance from last year, so relievers like Isringhausen, Weathers and Koch were on different teams than now.

Best 5:
1. Seattle
2. Oakland
3. Houston
4. Cleveland
5. NY Yanks

Worst 5:
1. Los Angeles
2. Texas
3. San Diego
4. Tampa Bay
5. Detroit

I like the Tribe maybe more then the Cubs.

I like the Tribe maybe more then the Cubs.

The Key will be Shuey and Wickman in the set up closer situation. I am just not sure how the Indians will adjust to their new style of play, their ballpark was built for a power lineup. They still have some power, but I would have to watch thier young pitching staff for a month before I start betting on them. For the Cubs , maybe they don't belong on this list with Gordon going down although I think Farnsworth could be the best closer in baseball. I am not really a big fan of Fassero in the first place, he has a tendancy to blow leads now and then. Another team that can shut the door is the Padres, their middle relief probably isn't the best but I see them getting the ball to Hoffman alot more this sesaon then they have in the past two. Thanks for pointing out Weathers is now a met, I guess he was in the last of his contract when the Cubs traded for him.

Farnsworth has the stuff to close but will he be able to mentally handle it? Forget Fassero; he's 39 YO and Baylor burned him out last year pitching him almost 60 times before August 1. Good thing they have a strong starting staff. Taveras may end up in the pen.

Glad to see someone else who reads the Prospectus Valuist. Bought it this year for the first time and enjoyed it.

JT--

There's some interesting stuff in there. I'm thinking of subscribing to Baseball-Insight. I have a friend who swears by it.

didn't want to enter the other arena where ego's are rampant....
but DID want to tell you that the TIGERS had a great season and
congrats to a fellow BIG 12 fan....my Cowboys came up short but
still proud of them.....I can't help but believe that the merger of
the Big 8 and the elite of the SW Conf. is now reaping it's rewards
and am not trying to start crap with those who didn't or weren't
included in the Big 12......MIZZOU is back BIGTIME..........:)
