I haven't posted any plays lately, but I have to post this one. Call me a homer, but my favorite play for bowl season is the Iowa Hawkeyes!!!!!!!

South Carolina closed the season at 7-5 by getting smoked on the road by both FLA and Clemson. Iowa closed strong winning 5 of 6 with the huge win over PSU in there.

Both teams play great defense. South Carolina definitely had the stronger schedule. But, Richard Stanzi has vastly improved after finally claiming the full-time QB gig. The Hawkeyes finished 8-4 this year, with the 4 losses coming by a combined 12 pts! And 3 of those 4 losses were to bowl teams, with Illinois being the only bad loss.

The Hawkeyes have arguably the best RB in the Nation in Shonn Greene, and this will likely be his Hawkeye farewell. Mitch King will also be playing his final college game.

Iowa's O line and Shonn Greene should be able to control this game. Greene's backup Jewel Hampton also can really play. Iowa also has the reputation of being one of the best traveling bowl teams in the country. This Iowa team was also bowl-eligible last year and sat at home, don't expect them to forget that. Add a fantastic coaching staff and this team will no doubt be ready to play.

I am playing the Hawkeyes -3, but I would very much like to hear from some of you who are more familiar with this South Carolina team, as well as other iowa backers.

Hawkeyes -3

Thanks

Couldn't agree more, Willy. Iowa finished the season hot (I watched them demoilsh my MN Gophers). Greene is the real deal.

LOVE THIS PLAY!:mj06:

Im gonna take Iowa, South Carolina cant stop the run, and nor can they run the ball, (their passing leaves something to be desired as well).

If Iowas defense is half way decent they should cover easy.

Kind of off subject but does anyone like the overs on the Troy/USM 55, NW/Mizz 66, Rice/WMich 72, Oregon/OkSt 77, Tulsa/BallSt 77, CMich/FlaAtl 62.5?

I think all of these are very likely to go over considering the defenses that are on the field.

Especially the Rice and Tulsa games.

Redsfann. Yes, but I am no longer involved with it, differences with current owner. BTW guys, I would feel a little better if at least one person says they like South Carolina. Somebody give me at least one reason to not play the Hawkeyes.

My impression after reading the quotes after the Clemson game was that USC would not be "up" for its bowl game. I could have misinterpreted things, or things could change, but for now I'm on Iowa.
