somewhere over the rainbow
Colts at Patriots
Three weeks into the season the Pats were 1-2 and coming off a blow out loss to the Lions and everyone was saying the Pats are done, the Brady/Belichick era is finally over. Then week 4 came and New England destroyed a 3-0 Miami team and now in week 5 on a short week they pick the Colts apart. Brady threw 3 tds and reached 500 for his HOF career. Seems as though the Pats have found a ground game with rookie Sony Michel, he has 210 yds and 2 tds in the last 2 games and White has become one of the best utility backs in the game now with 18 catches out of the backfield in the last 2 games. For Indy, Luck did throw for 365 yds and 3 tds trying to rally the Colts but the final score was not as close as this game really was. Luck threw 59 passes and like I always say, any QB throwing 50+ times is probably not winning many games. Colts head to Met Life to face the Jets. Pats host the Chiefs on SNF, in a battle of AFC heavy weights. This will be the Pats third straight home game and extra rest after week 5 Thursday game. Hmmmmm?

Titans at Bills
Ugly ugly game. I took the Bills and the points in this one. Sat here Sunday morning wondering why the line kept going up on Tennessee. Perfect spot for a let down after B2B wins vs Jax and Philly. I personally think the Titans are the worst 3-2 team in the league. Mariota is not a very good NFL QB, they rank 29th in the league in passing and are a mid pack rushing team. Defense is there strength but I just don't like this team a whole lot. Much of the same can be said for the Bills. A very vanilla team to watch. They play better defense at home and rode the backs of McCoy and Ivory who combined for 38 carries 128 yds rushing. Rookie Allen struggled throwing for just 82 yds but in the end Buffalo kicked a 46 yd FG and got the W. Titans host the Ravens in week 6, Bills head to Houston.

Giants at Panthers
Fun game to watch and great finish. Giants rally from 11 down in the 4th qtr to take a 31-30 lead with 1:08 remaining. Cam drives down the field to get into "field goal" range and Gano connects on his 4th fg of the game, this one a 63 yarder to win in dramatic fashion! Gano deserves offensive player of the week. He hasn't missed a fg at home since 2016, 35 straight what a weapon. Panthers get Washington on the road fresh off a MNF beat down. Giants have short week hosting Philly, losers of 2 in a row.

Dolphins at Bengals
Miami led 14-0 at HT, 17-3 after 3 qtrs and then it was melt down time. Cincy outscored the Dolphins 24-0 in the 4th qtr and came away with a 10 pt victory. The Bengals used strong defense to rally with a pick 6 and capped it off with a fumble return for a td. The Bengals have 13 sacks now in 5 games and should only get better on the defensive side with the return of LB Burfict, in week 5 he had 7 tackles. Bengals got Mixon back and saw him accumulate 115 all purpose yds and a td and AJ added yet another 100+ yd game. Bengals host Pittsburgh in a big week 6 divisional matchup. Dolphins try to get back on track hosting the Bears off there bye week.

Ravens at Browns
Old fashion defensive battle here. Browns get the win in OT after Flacco throws 56 passes, a recipe for defeat. The Mayfield era seems to be going just as good if not better than planned as he threw for 342 yds and a td. He hooked up with 9 different receivers. No one can say the Browns aren't legit this season. They have played 3 OT's in 5 games and are 2-2-1 with 2 losses by 3 points to the Saints and on road at Raiders. Ravens play there third straight road game at Tennessee next week. Browns will be home for second week in a row hosting the Chargers who come east for that 1pm kick.

Packers at Lions
Lions built a 24-0 lead then made it interesting but held off Rodgers and co. Detroits defense sacked Rodgers 4 times (they now have 17 in 5 games) and caused 2 fumbles, Mason Crosby had the worst game of his career missing 4 of 5, the one he made was with 2 seconds left in the game putting the game total over causing me to lose my under bet so I'm a little bitter about that one. Why did they kick it down by double digits with 2 seconds left anyway? A little fishy...Rodgers threw 52 passes for 442 yds and 3 tds but wasn't enough. Do we see a pattern here, 50+ passes = losses! Lions with a balanced attack 26 passes 28 runs = wins. Lions Lions have bye week 6, Packers host 49ers on MNF.

Jags at Chiefs
So much for the biggest test of Mahomes career. He threw for 313 yds but 0 tds and his first 2 ints of the year. It was supposed to be the Jags defense that dominated but instead the Chiefs sacked Bortles 5 times and picked him off 4 with one being a pick 6. Bortles threw 61 passes hut hmmm. Jags will try to right the ship in Dallas next week and we all are excited for Chiefs at Pats next Sunday night, should be a fun one to watch, O/U 59 anyone?

Broncos at Jets
Great spot for the Jets in week 5 catching Denver in a short week and travel. They wore the Broncos down with 38 runs and 22 passes. The 38 runs amounted to 323 yds on the ground, 219 of them a franchise record for Crowell. Darnold played a good game with 3 tds and 1 int, he finally remembered his speedy Wr Anderson and got it to him 3 times for 123 yds and 2 tds. Keenum threw 51 passes and was sacked 4 times. After opening with 2 straight wins the Broncos have lost 3 in a row and now host the Rams in week 6. Crowell had 219 yds, how many will Gurley get? Load him up in your daily fantasy line ups. Jets host an extra rested Colts team in there 2nd of 3 home games.

Falcons at Steelers
What is wrong with Atlanta? Too any playmakers on this team to be 1-4. Ryan has been sacked 16 times this year, the only game he wasn't sacked was the Panthers game which also is the only game the Falcons have won, see a theme here? Steelers got a much needed win and looked like the offensive force they should be. Big Ben was 19-29 3 tds, two of them to Brown and 1 to JuJu. Conner starred with 185 all purpose yds and 2 tds. Steelers get division rival Bengals next, Falcons host division rival Bucs off there bye week.

Raiders at Chargers
Is Gruden regretting his decision to coach yet? Rivers had another great game 22-29 339 yds 2 tds and no ints. This Chargers team is a well balanced team. Gordon and Ekeler are solid backs who can both catch the ball out of the back field and Keenan Allen offers big play ability. When Bosa finally gets back the defense should be solid. Can they compete in the AFC west with the Chiefs? At 1-4 and the only win a gifted win last week for poor officiating if you ask me the Raiders are a mess. The O line has allowed 11 sacks and they rank 24th in rushing. Raiders head to England to play the Seahawks in week 6. Chargers with a tough road game in Cleveland next week.

Vikings at Eagles
Minnesota may have turned there season around with a nice win here in Philly, they now get 2 very winnable games. Cousins was good again completing 30 of 37 for 301 yds and no ints. He got the ball to Diggs and Thieland 17 of those 30 times putting the ball in the palymakers hands. Vikings struggled to establish a run game with Cook still out but did enough for the win. Vikings defense held the Eagles without a td til the 4th qtr sacking Wentz 3 times and allowing just 81 yds on the ground. Ajayi was lost for the season in this one and will now lean on Smallwood. The Superbowl champs are now 2-3 and face the Giants Thursday. Vikings host the Cards fresh off Rosens first win.

Cardinals at 49ers
Amazing what the loss of Garapolo has done to this 49er team. A team that had playoff aspirations is now the laughing stock of the west after this loss to the Cards. Rosen completed just 10 of 25 but did find Christian Kirk for 75 yds and td early in the first half. David Johnson made a small impact for fantasy owners who have been waiting. He had 55 yds rushing and 2 tds. Cards defense picked Beathard twice, sacked him 4 times and forced 4 fumbles. A strong defensive effort got them the first win of the season. Zona heads to a tough place to play in Minnesota. 49ers head to Green Bay monday night.

Rams at Seahawks
This actually ended up being a really good game. I love Russell Wilson, the guy has heart. Playing on a team that isn't what it used to be he lays it all on the line. He completed 13 of 21 for 198 yds and 3 tds. Seattle used a balanced attack with 21 passes and 32 runs but couldn't get it done in the end against who I think are the best team in the NFL. Gurley had 3 tds but Goff struggled a bit without Woods and Kupp (concussions?) throwing 2 ints. Rams head to mile high to face Denver. Seattle travels to Oakland and is favored by 3.

Cowboys at Texans
Two of the worst coaches in football here. Houston did a great job defensively against the only player on the field that could beat them. Zeke had just 54 yds rushing and 30 yds receiving on 7 dink and dunk receptions. Watson had a nice game finishing 33-44 375 yds and a td he also ran 10 times for 40 yds. Hopkins had a huge game with 151 yds and set up the go ahead fg in ot with a 49 yard catch and run. Texans get the Bills at home next week and the Cowboys host a Jags team who really need to get back on track.

Redskins at Saints
Ugly game for Washington, not sure what to make of this team. Week to week they look good then terrible. They were held to just 39 yds rushing. None the less this game was all about Drew Brees. What a great Qb, father, role model. When it's all said and done don't we have to put him in the conversation of GOAT? 26-29 363 yds 3 tds and 0 ints, no one is talking about the fact that he now has 11 tds and 0 ints this year. Ingram returned and had 73 all purpose yds and 2 tds. What a scary 1-2 punch with Kamara and Ingram. Redskins host the Panthers. Saints head into the bye week 4-1 and at the top of the NFC South.

Quick Look ahead to week 6

Redskins pk at home vs Panthers? Washington better find there running game and contain McCaffrey or it'll be a long day

Bengals -2.5 vs Steelers. Divisional games are always close especially Pit/Cin. Will we see the Pitt offense we saw against the Falcons or will the Bengals strong defense control this one?

Chargers -1 going east to face Cleveland. Wrong team is favored if you ask me. If you like the Browns take the points now, they will be favored by kick off

Texans -8.5 vs the Bills could be a blow out. Bills are terrible on the road, they beat Minnesota some how but then layed an egg in a 22-0 blowout loss to GB the following week. Could see the same thing here.

Ravens -3, have to look at this one closer. Ravens not great on road. Like I said the Titans are the worst 3-2 team I have seen. Do like HC Vrabel though, line is probably right on. Wait and see

Patriots -3.5. 3rd straight home game and are clicking. Probably just watch this one with a posted total of 59 this will be fun

Enjoy guys, hope everyone is having a good NFL season so far

if I might add ..

for those who didn't get to see Mahomes .while he didn't throw a TD he did run 1 in and was a nightmare for the Jaxx defense the whole game...

Jaxx was never in this game....never......
