The game was 34-34 and 1:30 minutes to go on the 4th quarter, I have 10 points to my favor and Duke is on first and goal on the 10 yd line.

I stop watching the game because someone knock on my door, came back five minutes after to see on the Internet the final score and bammmmmmmmmm duke lost by 14 points

Wowwwwwwwwwwwwww this is unbelievable, 14 points with 40 seconds left, come on, what else I have left to see on college football.

 :scared

These games are starting to look like the NCAA basketball Tournament last year. Nothing is safe.

This loss is definately in my top 5 worst beats, especially since I'm down a ton and this would have helped cut into it.

I once had a game, I believe Texas A+M and they were - 4.5. It was tied up and TAM had the ball first and goal from the 1 with 5 seconds to go. They ran it up the middle for a TD with no time left on the clock. The extra point got blocked, TAM didn't give a shit, they already won, but the other team ran it back 95 yards for 2 points and they won by 4.

So yeah....I've seen my share of fucked up losses.

ughhh... sorry for you all. there seem to be a few teams (duke, vandy, fsu occasionally come to mind) that can just fuck up anything...

bowl experience? i dunno. they looked like they'd been there before in the first half...

Yeah one of my worst as well but maybe not the worst....not sure.

I remember a big east game, maybe Pitt vs Syracuse...something like that. It went to OT and I had one of them +4. Basically just needed the opponent to not get the ball first and score a TD and then hold.....college OT with 4 points is a nice advantage.

Anyway, it went a few OT's and there were 3 FG's missed that would have given it to me. Then the opponent's QB scrambles back to midfield and just throws it up for a TD. They hold on D and I lose. Sorry for the poor write-up I'm sure I don't do it justice but that was one of my worst beats.

Another one was where I had UNC -7 in basketball. Up by 6 they get a steal with less than 10 sec's left. The guy drives to the basket all by his lonesome.....and then turns around and runs the clock out.

This is like a Pitt-Cincy game a few years back where Cincy's QB threw a pick at the goalline and the Pitt player ran it all the way back for a TD with no time on the clock instead of just falling down.

CLEEEEAR!!
My worst beat ever was in baskets in the early 90's. I got whoever is playing the 76ers when Sir Charles was playing. Anyway I am getting +9.5 and I am basically doubled down as a bail out play, last day of the week, so its either even or down like 2 Grand. , My team misses a shot with 20 secs left down 8. Sixers rebound, cross center court and hand it to Barkley in the corner who is just going to dribble the clock away. I start to feel that wave of relief. With his back to the basket, the clock gets down to 1 sec, Barkley leisurely throws the ball over his back shoulder and DRAINS IT!!! But they didn't show on TV if the basket counted. I had to wait for what felt like forever in commercials and they flash the final. Sure enough, it counted, 76ers win by 10 and I lost 2 Grand. THAT WAS THE SICKEST EVER!

That was part of my young, dumb and reckless years.

Truly shocking. First we survive not one, but two, fumbles inside the Cincy 5 yd line, and a horrible PI call on a 12 foot high pass that kept a scoring drive alive.
Then Cincy scores from 75 yards out with less than a minute to go. What can for wrong here? Covering the 9 with hardly any clock left and the ball.
This will haunt for a while. I'm sure we will mention it many times over the years.

And as we say, why don't we ever WIN these ways?
