Hey guys, I'm going to be forming a Limited Liability Company soon and have been struggling with the name. Original idea was "Mitchel Investments" but the name is kind of taken (add an 'L' to Mitchel).

The business is real estate investing. I do not want to use the word "properties" because I think "investments" can leave the door open to do other things under that name.

My middle name is Mitchel and my last name is Mroz. The Mroz part is tough because the name is almost always mispelled....but that probably won't matter much anyway. The old lady's middle name is Kuyler and I'm thinking about using it (might be a good way to keep Sugar Momma interested, lol).

Here's my three selections:

Mroz Investments
Mitchel Kuyler Investments
Kuyler Mitchel Investments

Thanks.

Mitchel with one 'l' will always be misspelled because it's not the standard spelling. Just a thought.

I'd go with the Kyler Mitchell Investments...

Then you have "neat" initials of KMI - which sound good together - and are a lot easier to say than Kyler Mitchell Investments

Never a good idea to put your actual name in a LLC or S corp etc--too many people still prejudice towards different nationalities--I would come up with something like for example if you are from the north east: NORTH ATLANTIC INVESTMENTS etc--jmho

Thanks for the feedback guys. I was leaning hard towards Mitchel Kuyler Investments, but now I feel like I need to think it through some more.

Morris: I like the point you make about it sounding like more than one person.

Steve: I like Mroz too (I'm biased), but if I have to have people cut checks to that name, I might go crazy.

hsams: I know what you're saying, but I'm not looking for customers, so I think I'm safe.

Buddy: I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hoping to make a boatload of money with this enterprise. Realistically, I just want to earn a living my own way. Really tired of working in corporate America and really bored with my profession (operations management).

Gary,

I was just pulling your chain. LOL!

I certainly understand your ambition.

Makes perfect sense to me. Why march to someone else's drumbeat when you can lead your own parade.

Best of luck!

Kuyler Mitchel Investments sounds like more than one person. This would indicate partners and a stronger involvement.

I agree somewhat. Why do you want to use your name? Unless there is a tie-in to celebrity, a single name without credibility seams to me like a more risky involvment.

Who would you most likely "invest" with?

JOE'S INVESTMENTS LLC
or
SECURE GLOBAL INVESTMENTS LLC

I did a lot of brainstorming over this and the names that had any personal meaning to me didn't fit, so I went down the name route. I didn't look down the path you are suggesting because I'm not looking to appeal to anyone, just trying to develop something that sounds professional and has some sort of personal connection.

In this early stage (and possibly only stage), I'm buying and renovating properties. Some will be for rent, others (like the one I'm about to begin) will be for quick sale.

I appreciate the feedback and will give it more thought over the weekend.
