nanny rates?

We are looking to get a nanny for 3 days a week and I am looking to determine how much I should expect to pay. Anyone hear use a nanny or know someone that does it?

I know rates are driven by where you live, but I am just looking for estimates.

We have a 9 month old, 3 year old and 6 year old. We would be taking the 6 year old to and from school, so they would really only be watching the 2 younger ones. We would have them at our house from about 7am - 4:30pm, but they would be alone with the kids from 8am-4pm.

We would looking to have them 3 days a week (MWF). Anyone have thoughts on what it would cost. I was guessing about $80-$90 a day, but I am not sure how accurate that is... anyone know?

I had a full-timer (8-5:30pm)until my 4yo started pre-k this year. Now, she comes from 1-5:30. She cooks some, runs errands, waters plants, does some light cleaning, does laundry, etc, until she picks up the boys at school. Then stays around til my wife gets home from work. The fulltime rate was a little higher than your range.

dont have kids but I am thinking for 2 kids and 8 hrs a day ... $10 an hour does not seem high enough to get someone "good" to trust your kids with :shrug:

Neither you nor dunclock got my point. I wasn't talking about dunclock and I wasn't bitching about the government either. I was bitching about all the people that bitch about that woman getting government assistance. They just want to kick her in the streets.
