Nascar gained more support from viewers report shows for early season results. With all the young drivers joining over last 5 years it seems to be growing faster then officials even thought. It is second to the NFL only. It went past the other sports. When you see up to 200000 fans at some of these races it really is a site. And the races have been very entertaining.

Place a few wagers on it and see how you like it.

This may have as much to do the the OverLord ESPN suddenly getting VERY involved and shoving NASCABBIE down evryone's throats.

They road the wrong horse with hockey and are now trying to go this route.

Man....

I really wish FOX had a clue :cursin:

Well after playing my Neckcar Game on XBOX trying to keep a freaking car under control and fast for 200 laps on just that I can respect what it must be like for real. Tough. Still, can't say I am a diehard fan or anything like that.

I have to admit that I am one of the new fans. I don't think I have watched a race from start to finish until this past Daytona race. Now, I did have a Benjamin on Gordon to win (thanks to The Big Tease) so that kept my interest right up until the thrilling finish. But I also watched it with someone who knew a lot about it and taught me lots of things I had no idea about. Hell, I had no idea they have a different car for every race with all kinds of different mechanical setups. I think Fox does a helluva job with the broadcast as well...so many things they keep you informed about. Plus, Joe Buck is nowhere to be seen or heard and that is always great. So, I'm a new fan but I will probably have to be profitable wagering on it for it to hold my attention.

And for the record, I am far from a redneck or hick even though I live in the middle of Tennessee.

I used to be a casual fan, listening to my Bubba Buddies at work talk about it. I then was in a Daytona Pot, which I Won, so it gained a little more of my interest.

Just as djv stated earlier, I made a Play. It was very cool watching, then getting pissed because JR sucked. Now, I make a weekly Outright and Matchup Plays and I do good on the Matchups, Outright are like my Golf Plays, almost there (Had Vijay 8-1 and he hits in the Water). There is Value in these Plays, once you gain some knowledge or have a favorite driver.

I now like to Turn It Up, blow out my GF and Cat. I still don't wear a Tank-top but I do have a mulet!

I don't have the first clue what is going on with the race most of the time, but my stepdad is a big fan and sometimes will give me advice on matchups, so I'll throw a few bucks down on it. Makes it easily watchable.

The only thing that sucks is, when you're in a matchup, your guy can be kicking ass but get knocked out by no fault of his own in a crash. Or like in this year's Daytona 500, I had Waltrip to finish in the top 5. Dominates the first 2/3 of the race, but the engine blows as he's driving untouched down one of the stretches. Of course, it's great when that happens to the guy you're matched up against.

One pet peeve from the little coverage I've actually watched: SAY THE DAMN NAMES OF THE DRIVERS!!! I have no idea who is in the 36 car or whatever, and they constantly refer to drivers by car number, not by name.

The ESPN Beast shoves more NBA that I can take. NASCAR gets maybe one story a day (5 whole mins after a race). NBA gets highlights of every game and in depth "outside the lines" shows about their newest assault charge. Given "drive fast and turn left" isn't my favorite, but it's better than "walk up the court, and slap left handed".
