*****this is a no wager as of 12/02/03 due to a forecast of potential heavy rain and the grass field.....
no sense in waiting for this to go higher....i know that this is army`s "bowl game".....i know all the rivalry cliches......i don`t think any of it will matter here.....
when you have a physical running team like this vs a weak run defense,it`s just not something that you can change overnight with emotion...navy is a pretty physical offensive football team......
and this is the crowning achievement of their season....the commander-in-chief`s trophy...it`s been awhile since anyone except air force has possessed it(7 seasons)..navy hasn`t won it since 1981!!!!....if they lose to army, air force keeps the trophy....
this is serious business for the middies....better defenses than army have had trouble stopping navy`s ground game...and surprisingly enough, navy plays pretty fair pass defense(allowing only 157 ypg)...and army can`t run.....
coach paul johnson has turned the program around after 5 stellar years at georgia southern(perennial div 1aa powerhouse.....2 national championships in 5 years there)....
the guy has turned this program around in 2 years...they were 1-20 in the 2 years preceding johnson`s arrival.....witness last year`s army result in their 1st year under johnson(58-12)....
21 is a very fair price,imo.......if it blows,i`m wrong....but,i`d lay it again tomorrow.....
navy is very serious about winning this trophy....and then their bowl....
