Maryland
Lots of hope, maybe wishing thinking, in Terp land that they can get Jalen Hurts to transfer to Maryland. Locksley got Josh Gattis to commit as offensive coordinator so that should at least give them a shot. There is a lot of talent on the offensive side of the ball, so I think there is a chance he could go there. They may lose Hill or Pygrome if that happens, but Locksley will not care as he is confident he can get a big time recruit or two for the next season.
Of course, many teams will be after Hurts but he knows what he will be getting with the coaching staff at Maryland. It is an interesting story line to follow.
I expect Locksley to pick up a few late recruits this year and get some transfers in, but my guess is that Maryland will have a top 20 class for 2020. He can recruit in the DC area, he just hired the Dematha head coach which will only help recruiting and they hired Cory Robinson as defensive backs coach who has great Baltimore connections (important as St. Frances is now one of the best programs in the country and will produce multiple top 300 prospects every year). Maryland and DC is actually a great recruiting base that Maryland has never dominated. Getting the best local players will go a long way.
