Welcome to the NBA, the easiest sport there is to win at. All you have to do is come to Jack's and follow Thunder, Roger, KC or anyone of about a dozen great cappers and if at the end of the year you are not a winner you'd better get a real job. Wasn't going to do anything today but there are a couple of situations I think are worth a look and a couple of comments that might save you money over the year.

GSP's rule #1. Be very careful playing anything the Lakers or Knicks are involved in. They are both big favorites with the betters and both will throw you in the well every chance they get. For that reason I will not play SA tonight but another rule of mine in the past that has made money was play SA over when the line was 180 to 188. I still might do that tonight.

When Mutumbo went to Phil I went on record that the trade would hurt Phil. A lot of people disagreed with me but I still think I was right. Him leaving could help but I don't know to what extent. I see less d and the possibility for a lot of confusion (at least at first). Van Horn and MacCullock will have to learn to play with Iverson and that's not easy. If things dont start off well, Iverson and Brown will be at each other's throat and you can count on Coleman to quit trying. This could be a very frustrating year for Phil fans.

The best thing that could happen to Orl over the summer did. Grant Hill got healthy. This makes Orl twice as strong as last year and folks, they were pretty good last year. The minus is Shawn Kemp. What a waste of money but Doc has the ability to make guys want to win and, who knows. Miller, Garrity, Tracy and Grant looks real good to me but after Armstrong another guard will have to step up. No NBA center either. A 6-11 rookey is the tallest man on the roster. The game-plan will have to be to out run and out shoot their opponents.

I look for the confusion on both offence and defence to become apparent in the second half when Brown isn't sure who he can count on and the players feel the same way. Iverson wanted to run more last year and I think that's what you will see tonight.

Going with Orl and over.

Sac without Christy and Bibby means quite a bit less d and not much less scoring. If you remember, Bibby didn't start scoring until the play-offs last year. Cle is so over matched in this game that Adelman will be willing to let his team outscore his opponent and put on an opening night show for the fans. After he is sure of the win, he could do a lot of experimenting which could mean a back-door cover on this high a line. If I can get 95 out of Cle..........

So here's where I am at

Orl -4'
o 192
Sac o 200

Good luck everyone

Spock, I dont know what the line is but I do feel that Sac will try to come out firing. If they are hitting their shots it could get ugly quick. They will test the inside with Webber and Divac and if nobody can handle them it's katy bar the door. Predrag, Turkoglu, and Jackson will have a field day.l
