Passing on the ORL game for now, play it at the half. I see lots of people on the OVER, probably based on last year's results, but I'm not sold on it yet. I want to see NY play a decent game first before I bet on them scoring 90 pts in a game...

NEW ORLEANS OVER 175.5

These two played last week and the game went OT and still only ended up with 171 total pts. Since that game, both teams have been hitting for over 95 pts per game and I don't see that changing much tonite. TERRY being out for ATL is a concern, but I still see this game ending with at least 184 or more.

Spurs at MEMPHIS

Normally I'd be all over this one, UNLOADING on SAN ANTONTIO! BUT this team has not shown any consistency as of yet, and until they start to jell, they are a stay away for me. SPURS came back to win at home vs PHOENIX on opening nite, only leading that game for the last 46 seconds. Then they took a dump in DENVER and came back home to beat the KNICKS. GRIZZLIES are an interesting team, having lost their home opener to BOSTON in a tight game, then went out and beat the ROCKETS in HOUSTON. ROCKETS has a ton of turnovers in that game, so was it bad play by HOU, or good DEF by MEMPHIS??? I don't know, didn't see the game. I'm not touching this game either until the half as there are some tremendous TRENDS against MEMPHIS vs SPURS that are tough to overlook. Like 1-13 vs SPURS since 1996! This is a pass for me too! :nono:

Houston at CHICAGO

BULLS are giving up nearly 45% FG so far, allowing opponents to average 97 pts a game. HOUSTON is not your classic run and gun team, but if STEVIE WONDER FRANCIS can get it going, it could be a long nite in the WINDY CITY. HOU may be looking ahead to tomorrow nite's matchup with NEW JERSEY, but VAN GUNDY has to be emphasizing getting a win tonite so they don't go back home 1-3. Beating the BULLS will be much easier than taking on the NETS tomorrow. VAN GUNDY is a good coach, and I think he'll have the ROCKETS ready to flare tonite. BULLS looked terrible in 2nd game of BTB vs MILW on SAT, and I'm sure we'll see a better effort out of them tonite. I see this game as an early must win for the ROCKETS and I see them getting it done tonite in a big way. BULLS we'll hang for awhile til HOU pulls away late to win by 8.

FINAL: HOU 96 Chicago 88

HOUSTON -2.5 & OVER 178

Miami at DALLAS

Miami is terrible... no doubt about it. MAVS got their game going at home vs UTAH and blew them out. I am reluctant to lay double digits in the NBA, way too many backdoor covers. I have to believe that DALLAS will score at least 100 tonite with MIAMI giving up 45% FG, DAL should be able to pick the Final Score. I think they come out firing and put MIAMI's HEAT out by raining in shots from everywhere and everyone. Look for a double digit DAL lead at the half in this one, and then a much more boring 2nd half. I see DAL taking it to MIAMI early so my play is this:

DAL -7.5 1st Half
UNDER 189

I see DAL leading at the half 52-38 in this one, and then the game getting ugly and Dallas pulling away to win by 20. FINAL: DAL 101- 80. Although I like them to win by 20, I'm not gonna lay the huge number at this point. If DAL struggles early, I'll play them 2nd half to hopefully win back FH play.

Minnesota at UTAH

I'm playing this game a little different. Although I like UTAH in the game, I'm playing MINNY in the FH. Each of the last four games between these two, MINN lead at the half. UTAH is one of my favorite 2H teams to play, so I'm expecting MINNY to come out strong early in this one and take a lead into the locker room. It will probably be pretty low scoring, 85 pts max. I will then look to play UTAH and OVER in 2H again to pull out a win as they did vs PORTLAND. Taking MINNY in FH & Over, UTAH and OVER in 2H possibly, depending on 1H.

MINN -1.5 & OVER 87.5 1st Half

ORL -5.5 & OVER 87 for 2nd Half

Hard to believe ORL will lose again at home. Both teams very cold in FH. Couldn't believe how many shots ORL missed right under the basket. I know DIKEMBE is awesome down low, but come on. How many bunnies can they miss??? I really like ORL to come back and win this one, so I'm playing it that way. ORL should put up at least 54 in 2nd half, and if NY can score 34, we'll be in business

NO -4.5

I played this game OVER 176 and I still like the 2nd half OVER but will only play the side. Too many bad things can happen when one gets greedy. I agree with HOOPS, been watching this game and HORNETS did nothing til about 6 min to go. Made a nice run and I think it continues. Anytime the man wants to give me a -3 pt favorite +4.5 pts, I usually will bite! ;)

Good luck!

Philadelphia at PORTLAND

SIXERS are playing horrible defense so far this year, especially on the road where they've lost by double digits to both GST and SACRAMENTO, giving up over 100 pts in each game! Now PORTLAND is waiting to play the SIXERS having just beat the CAVS on SAT nite, 104-85. PHILLY will turn it around sooner or later, but I'm thinking it will be later, as in after they get home from this trip. BLAZERS should be able to take care of business tonite, and although I am not taking the home team in this one, I do really like the OVER. I think both teams will continue as they have and PORTLAND should get their 100 tonite, and PHIL around 90-95.

PORT OVER 185
