the heat are alot better, better players.
The Heat are significantly better in one respect in that they do boast a superstar in Wade; b/c of that, they'll collect a decent regular season record, but fail to advance significantly into the playoffs. For all of his accolades, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Wade has only enjoyed his only playoff success w/ a then still serviceable O'Neal. And is literally BEGGING Riley to import another superstar to complement him - the rest of the Heat are nice complementary players, but no more than that.
As for the Kings, they play well as a unit, but will likely suffer growing pains as the season continues as teams take notice of their play - youth also entails lack of experience and this was clearly demarcated last night against the Suns; for all of their (still somewhat meager, but encouraging) accomplishments thus far, this stretch of 4 in 5 will probably test them greatly. They will take their lumps, but hopefully Westphal will impress upon them that they still need to learn how to walk before they run (if one were to employ a tired cliche). The Heat haven't fared all that well on this road trip out west and will want to end it on a decent note more out of relief than any great satisfaction. The game against the Lakers? Kobe doesn't want to belittle and humiliate his USA Basketball teammate to a punishing degree so the outcome was expected as such - Lakers tonight against a team they despise? Not as much quarter availed.
