Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Minnesota Timberwolves swingman Wally Szczerbiak is expected to see his first action of the season in tonight's home game against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Szczerbiak has sat out the past 11 games (including six preseason) due to a dislocated fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot suffered October 8 against the Bucks.
On October 31, the Timberwolves signed Szczerbiak to a six-year contract extension, through the 2008-09 season.
Szczerbiak had a streak of 196 consecutive starts broken when he missed the season-opener against Denver. Szczerbiak is coming off a season in which he averaged a career-high 18.7 points per game and earned his first All-Star Game appearance. He also shot a career-high 45.5 percent from three-point range, placing fourth in the league
