I looked up his injury. It was his fibula. The fibula is a non weight bearing bone. I have broken mine before too. True story; I broke it during a pickup basketball game when I was 22. I continued playing. It hurt yes, but we were winning, and there was a three team wait for winners. It was either play on or let down a bunch of guys from the Lampkin Park hood. I also did not miss any work. I did have to wear a cast a few weeks.

Bobby Baun (of my beloved Maple Leafs) breaks his leg then scores the game winner in game 6 of the 1964 Stanley Cup Final.

Hockey players are tough as fuck.

To this day he never pays for a meal in Toronto, dude could kill a nun in downtown Toronto and nobody would say anything.

For whatever reason, I don't find that hockey translates as well as the NBA for T V viewing. Love it live but not so much on the tube.

I think its constant action is a big draw for televised games, at least for me. You can't passively watch like you can in football or baseball and basketball to some extent. Limited replays and you can have back and forth action for upwards of 8 minutes before a whistle or break.
