YTD: 0-0
Didn't post last night, but cashed a small ticket on the Spurs waiting for tonight's big card. Started off 12-1 last year before giving it all back, so hopefully the lines are soft at the beginning of the year again. Here's what I've got so far:
DAL -5.5 (2 units $220/200) : Gooden looks like a good(en) addition in Memphis, but this Mavs team is still a few steps ahead to say the least. Unless Jerry West is going to suit up and play, Dallas should easily cruise by double-digits.
NO -4 : Hornets have the advantage at every position except PF where PJ Brown should still be able to hold his own pretty well against Malone. Stockton is a Hall of Famer but he can't run with Baron. Wesley and Courtney Alexander will beat DeShawn Stevenson all night long, and add in a healthy Mash, the first home game in a new city, and a better bench and this should be no contest once it gets into the second half. If Elden Campbell were playing, this would be a 2-unit play, but I'll just play it for one.
That's all for right now. Probably back later after more of the lines come out (lots of them still off the board). As for underdogs, looking hard at Chicago and, believe it or not, Denver. Portland at -7 or so might also be a play. That team is crazy, but they are loaded. Back later. Good luck.
