I think Va. Tech is damn good this year. I saw the NCSU/VaTech game and, like Hokie mentioned, it was Vick's first game back in over a year. Also, State's defense is unbelievably talented. There just dumb as shit.
Its so hard to compare NC State with anyone. They can play with the best, but inevitably, "thug ball" takes over. Penalties, miscues, etc. You just have no idea whats going to happen.
I've said it for 3 years now. They are way too aggressive and they have no character. They can kill weak teams with all that speed and talent, but when they play good teams, little things come back to bite them in the ass.
Being a Carolina fan, I love it. But its ridiculous, b/c every State fan blames Jay Davis for everything. Davis is pretty bad, but there are so many other problems. State fans are slowly seeing Amato for what he is. And its funny to keep reading in the paper his replies. How he's not going to change anything. And, they don't.
Anyway, got off on a tangent there.
I didn't see the GaTech/VaTech game. One thing I know is that "Beamer Ball" showed up and that helped make the score so lopsided. I think things like defensive scores, and especially special teams scores are a little random. What I mean is, I think Va. Tech has high percentages of getting them. But they can't just turn it on when they want to, like teams can do with offense and defense. They can't just block a kick, but out of 10 kicks they can get 1 or 2. Something to that effect. Thats part of what happened in the GaTech game.
I don't know about Ball's health in that one either. Like I say, I didn't see the game, just a few highlights.
Everything tells me to take GaTech and thats what worries me. Still undecided, but leaning to Tech at home.
