I hope this week the NCAA is as kind to me as the NFL has been this year, as Master Capper's House of Debauchery is in need of some mighty fine donations this week. Good lord, where do we start with this game tonight? Both teams just plain suck and pouring through some stats and trends leads me in really no direction, as about the best stat that I could throw out is that I must reason even with a change in coaching regimes that Marshall still is playing thug ball, as they are the most penalized team in the country and rank near the bottom in turnover margin which is a sign of an undisciplined team. Neither team really does anything well as both teams rank in the bottom 15% in the country in rushing yards (UCF 95th and Marshall 86th), neither team can pass the ball very well, Marshall actually stops the tun fairly well whereas UCF utilizes the NBA matador defense to stop the run, Marshall is absolutely terrible at stopping the pass and UCF is average at best. Thus the gameplans should be for UCF to attack through the air and Marshall to establish a pounding ground game and then him intermediate passes off the playaction. Thus since no side jumped out at me, had the brainstorm that this looks like a solid total play, but which way to go. Neither team is an offensive juggernaut as Marshall averages 19 ppg and UCF 17 ppg, and both defenses in plain english blow, Mar gives up 32 ppg and UCF 25. Well the over looks solid but since both offenses suck can they capitalize on the other sides bad D? How about the weather in beautiful Huntington, WV...other then the toxic showers emitted along the river it looks like most of the larger storms are going to blow over, so I am goingto slam one whole unit on the over 44. Remember the under has come in the last two televised games in Philly and in Tulsa, so the over is due if not tonight then for sure tomorrow in one of the two games and you can take that to the bank. Not a real strong play for me as it is more of a boredom action play.

Well I guess you could say that I got lucky on the over in the Marshall game, but I still think there should of been 7 more points scored in the 1st quarter when the ball carrier for UCF clearly broke the endzone marker and how in the hell the guy sitting in the replay booth could not see this is beyond me. m passing on the TCU and Utah game, as both teams are coming off subpar performances and TCU is slightly banged up. Utah looks like they are the steam tonight but I would be a little hesitant to go against Patterson in this situation since he has shown that when he has a wounded team the team seems to rally around him and perform beyond expectations. I toyed with playing FSU tonight since I really dont see how NCST will move the ball on the Noles. NCST is average at running the ball and terrible so far at throwing the rock and FSU's defensive strength is stopping the run. Amato usually seems to play well against the Noles, but I really have a very low opinion of this guy after he cried when Akron beat them and tried to reason that Akron had some players that would not be admitted to NCST. I usually try to avoid playing any NCST games as they have been perhaps my hardest team to handicap outside of the Sunbelt League, but going to throw one unit on the under and hope it rains like hell tonight for the game

NCST under 39.5 One Unit

Anyone feeling Tulane today? I could be wrong but is this not Rice's third road game in a row and I beleive there is a strong play against trend with teams playing three road games

Smitty,

Going to pass on Tulane, even though I agree that they should be the right side.

Don't look now but the mighty Hoosiers have roared back and taken the lead.
